Would you like to see the addition of a secondary class skill line?

Imagine if they allowed the selection of one skill tree from any other class to your character(s).

DragonKnight with Storm calling skill line. E.g. Tank with bolt escape
Warden healer with Templar's Restoring Light tree.

I think such addition would allow a lot of build diversity. You could also test out new skills (Arcanist) without having a new char.

There of course should be a respec element to allow you to change the additional tree to another one. I think I would try out of a lot differing combo's over time personally.

Unsure, what would this do to the game.

For anyone who has just 1 or 2 characters and doesn't want any more, this would help them get to experience others classes to a small degree.

I don't need anything like that, and if they decided to add it, I wouldn't use it. I don't need "build diversity" for my solo gamestyle.

It’s not my first choice. But this game desperately needs new skills to play with. We haven’t gotten any new combat skills since summerset…. Let that sink in lol

Not like you described, but I would think it'd be neat if they did something like GW2's elite specializations to change up the current classes playstyles a bit.

I can imagine balancing would be a disaster as a result, but it would be interesting... especially if it's only a single skill line extra from something else.

Problem is for the original 4 classes the roles are blended together. There's no hard defined Tank, Healer, and DPS skill lines, but instead each skill line incorporates a theme of what the class represents. Like for Dragonknight we have Fire, Dragon Scales, and Earth skill lines. We have healing in Fire and Earth, survivability in Earth and Dragon Scales, damage in all three, etc...

Warden, Necromancer, and it's looking like the new Arcanist classes all suffer the problem of each of their 3 skill lines is more or less designed for 1 role instead of 1 theme. Like the poor Wardens that want to deal frost damage are out of luck since pretty much most their ice magic is for survivability, defense, and crowd control. Basically tanking.

In original GW, we had the possibility to combine two classes, one being primary (full scope) and the other secondary (reduced scope). I was really enjoyable and I miss it very much in GW2 now.

If something similar would come in ESO (am not sure I properly understood what comes), I would certainly welcome that.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

I would end up giving everyone Daedric Summoning and Sorcerers will get the Bear.

It would increase build diversity for non-competitive areas of the game. However it would probably cause build homogenization for competitive areas of the game as people figure out what the most optimal skill line to take is, which I'm not convinced will be positive. Do I really want everyone I meet in PvP to have NB stealth or have streak? Not really. Not at all really.

You wouldn't! In those two cases, you cannot have both. A choice must be made. And all classes will not be choosing the same trees. Look above to they guy who would want sorc pets for all his builds.

Perhaps the DragonKnight is using Streak as a gap closer to catch the Templar. The Templar unable to avoid the DK, uses NB stealth to live another day. Is that a bad thing? They each have those skills on their bar for a reason; Gap closer, and a Bug out. And both of those skills do not directly effect combat much. They had to take away an attack skill or Dot to put them on the bar.

This game is built upon META and BIS. It's a copy cat league.
Create a successful build and keep to yourself... or Share the knowledge and it's usage is widespread.
Look at the introduction of Mythic items. They changed the game. For better or worse, it's hard to say, but the potential of build diversity increased.

For me, being able to "Fix" a deficiency in some classes would make all classes more playable. E.g. that nightblade you started to beat, weapon swaps to S&B and pops Corrosive Armor. And you thought he was going to streak away :)

    And another thing.
Every major update brings nerfs and some increases.

Your char x got nerfed? Add a skill line from class x that was buffed.
