As a temporary workaround to view the mount, you can hide all mount upgrades by going into the Gameplay Settings and relogging. In the meantime, we're continuing to investigate a proper fix for this.

Turning off the upgrades works so now I can see that I'm riding a cookie horse. The pony pet is happier now that it can see its friend.
