For me, I want a statue and at least one coin.
I really hope they release a physical collector's edition.

I don't have space for one, and I didn't get any of the others so it would be kind of weird to start now. I only got a boxed version of the base game because I found it cheaper than the digital version.

I'm not that much of a fan of cluttering my home with plastic figurines. I do like the ESO lorebook collection though, and something like that might catch my interest.

I want one with a statue, but not for those insane price tags when the quality isn't there anymore. And I wish they would go back to the previous quality of CEs, the Imperial Edition and Morrowind were excellent, in Summerset the quality dropped already (Mephala statue was great, but the book was a huge letdown).

I have vanilla and greymoor physical collectors. They're great, a real love letter to games and players.

Sadly after morrowind they halved the size of the boxes and the statues, then they didn't bother at all since 2 years ago.

When they started selling the collectors statue in the merchandise store it was a clear sign that it was all over.

2015 and surrounding years were the peak collectors editions days.

The fact that they don't even sell the game now with modern collectors, or alternatively sell them for as much as a full console.. for not even that good junk.. its past. I think d4 and starfield will be my last.. though the fantasy eso collectors is always on the list.

Yes, I want a statue, preferably of a daedric prince; The Mephala statue is awesome, too bad my cat decided to push it of the ledge, so she does not have all her spider legs anymore.

I also really really really love the written novel/art book that came with the first CE's.

    And a map (in cloth).

And some cool ingame goodies (mounts/pets/costume).
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

I loved collecting the art books.

Never been a fan of statues. They frequently look like cheap tat your friends would be creeped out by. But the artbooks from the base game CE and the Morrowind and Summerset CEs were fantastic. The Summerset artbook also includes The Truth in Sequence in full print (one of the best lore additions ESO has made imo) so I was really happy with that one.

I also bought the Hero's Guide limited edition book set that ESO released and put them all together in a display case

The official images for the Hero's Guide had them laid out on sheepskin and antlers, so I had to replicate that at home

Wow! That is an impressive collection. I have three art books, and 4 statues. My wife calls them the gargoyles that protect our home and keep the bad spirits away. I have to laugh each time she does that because of just who they represent.

I love Physical CEs. I even bought a few WoW ones when I wasn't playing.

That being said I put No because I don't mind how they do it now. The base software is cheaper then I can choose what I want out of the CE. I normally got them for the statue but had to pay some for the art book and sound tracks, or cloth maps etc. How they do it now I can pay my like 50$ for the game then only buy the statue off the website.

I can also wait if need be due to funds. Where before they are only X number of CE you can purchase and when they are gone you can't get the stuff in them anymore. Now you can back and buy the stuff at any time, or at least you don't have FOMO if you don't pay immediately when pre-orders go live.

It's what I've done in D4. Normally I would have gone out snatched it up immediately, but since there isn't anything I want outside of maybe the 4 day early access I can wait till like 5 days before pre-order still get the early access and not miss out on anything.

I know someone who collects 23" statues and pays up to $250 for them. How tall are the ESO statues? Actually there was a Nord statue on their website.

I don't have space, or the spare cash. I only buy chapters when they are on sale.

But I'm jealous of those who have them

to be honest few years ago I looked at all the CE crap i collected over the years (we were moving to a new house at the time) and I realized standing there in front of the mountain of boxes that this is a huge waste. Mountain of plastic, metal and paper that serves no functional purpose at all. I just did not see how that fits along with all our efforts to recycle, keep waste to a minimum, etc... I put everything on Craigslist and E-Bay. People drove for hours to buy the Everquest coins, the Star Wars tOR Darth Malgus statue, the Starcraft II UBS and a 1,000 other things.

Most of us would not pay for such things as it does nothing to enhance our gameplay. While the majority (at the time of the post) has answered with a clear no, I expect many of those answering yes via one of the convoluted yes answers would not buy a physical collectors edition since many would probably avoid buying an expansion until it was discounted, if at all.

No. I used to buy physical collectors editions in the past, when I was still buying games in boxes. Most of the trinkets and stuff inside sat on a shelf collecting dust, only to be thrown out next time I moved. The older I get, the less clutter I'm interested in collecting.

If I want a statue or something like that, I'd buy one separately.

I think it's up to each person to decide what they do with their own money. I had people complaining about one of my hobbies in the past (if anyone cares: it was analog photography), calling it a waste of money and suggesting I'd donate that money I spent for films and camera equipment instead. Know what? I was donating on a regular basis while the person who complained never donated anything at all. That said, I think if people want to put CE statues in their home that's completely fine, even if I personally don't care for these things (main reason is that they often look too plastic-y for my taste; there would be one exception though - if it was possible and the price acceptable, I'd order a statuette of my main character. But that's a different topic).

I use to get physical collectors editions for games when I was younger, they just end up collecting dust after being opened once and having a look through.

Would rather just buy the digital collectors upgrades that come with a decent amount of stuff to use in game instead.

I don't understand why so many people care what other people do with their own space and money. If it's actually affecting the person's life (as in they really can't afford it, or can't use their home properly because of all the clutter) then yes, but other than that I don't see why anyone cares.

My mum keeps saying if my husband and I got rid of all our games, books, DVDs/Blu-rays and CDs and albums we'd have more space for ornaments. I keep telling her we don't want ornaments and would rather have the physical media which we actually do use on a regular basis. The annoying thing is I can imagine how she'd react if I turned it back on her and told her to get rid of all the stuff from her hobbies which take up space, she'd probably stop talking to me for a while.

The funny thing is a lot of our games are on shelves with a bunch of ornaments in front and whenever our friends are round they either look past the ornaments to check out the games or they comment on the video game collectors edition statues, not the 'sensible' stuff my mum wants us to have more of.

Yeah, collector's editions were some of the best things about the expansions, with the little lore books and the statues that came with them (though the less said about the quality of the vampire statue from Greymoor, the better). Now though, they've decided to just charge the cost of a collector's edition for a statue and shove it on their store. It's not worth it just for that, especially with the quality of the last collector's edition (Greymoor) they made. They make excuses, but it's clear to everyone that it's all because they think they can make more money from their store.
