    High Elf
    Level 50
    Sorcerer
Tornaad, was attacked by a mage of some sorts as a young boy and left permanently scarred as result. His father grew to hate anything magic because of that event, but for Tornaad, it was the moment his future was decided, he would become a mage himself. After a near violent fight with his father, Tornaad left home to learn to become a mage. When he had time to cool down, Tornaad went to try to find where his home was at, but instead he found himself on a world he now knows as Nirn, and is exploring it, delving into its secrets, in hopes of trying to find out where he is from and how to get back.

    Warden
Sold into slavery by her parents when they were desperate to survive, while trying to follow the green pact, she grew to hate much of her people's culture. She was ultimately freed by a raid on the farm she was imprisoned in, and joined the Ebonheart Pact to help their cause. She realizes now that the only reason she did that was because of how much she still hates her parents, but she doesn't care. However, after realizing that she didn't have the best of intentions for joining the war, she became an adventurer in hopes of finding her place in life.
While deep down inside, she truly cares, she has a major chip on her shoulder that will freely come out in either cutting remarks and/or violence. And she has no qualms with using a certain dagger she got from the Dark Brotherhood to resolve disputes.

This seems like a fun thread! I try to make all of my characters have a RP background, even though I am not in a RP guild at the moment. I am not going to write the names of my characters as I do not wish to be contacted in game.

Here is just two of my many, many characters.

    Wood Elf

    Nightblade

She was born and raised in Cyrodiil on a small dairy farm owned and operated by her wood elf parents. When the city fell and the three banners war began, her parents were killed and she was captured, later sacrificed to Molag Bal. Escaping Cold Harbour, she joined the Aldemeri Dominion finding some comfort fighting along side other Wood Elves. However, although she considers herself a wood elf, many of the customs of her people still feel foreign to her.

    Imperial

    Templar

Born to a noble family in Cyrodiil, he was raised with the best tutors, in a highly religious environment. Devoted to the Cyrodiilic Empire, the Emperor, and the Divines, he joined the Imperial Legion, automatically assuming a command position due to his family's influence.
When the Imperial City fell, and the three banners war began, he was in the Colovian Highlands inspecting one of his family's vast holdings. He rushed back but was too late. Captured and sacrificed to Molag Bal, he escaped and plotted to restore the Empire and fight the deadra. He reluctantly joined the Daggerfall Covenant, mainly because some of his estates exist within their holdings. But his first loyalty will always be to Cyrodiil.

I'm not going to do all of mine, but here's some of the ones I think have more interesting stories:

    Danielle Aurorel - breton warden

Born to minor nobility in Daggerfall she couldn't face the prospect of being married off to some lord and getting stuck managing his household, so she ran away and (as tends to happen with runaway women in High Rock) was taken in by the local Wyrd. She'd had some magical education as a child but learned a lot more with them and ended up travelling around various Wyrds and even some Reach clans, making her way as far as Skyrim before things got a little too dangerous and she found she was increasingly being driven towards worshipping daedra she didn't trust. The Wyresses taught her a lot and she will always be greatful to them, but felt driven to set out on her own as a warden and adventurer, adopting a new name to avoid any association with her family (for their sake as much as her's, she wouldn't want her actions to shame her parents). She still venerates Jephre and Azura, as well as Kynareth, but on her own terms.

She stayed in contact with her family (intermittently) but will never, ever, admit to her mother that on her first time out as a solo adventurer she did get herself killed. It's fine though, she got over it and now she has a goal to work towards in addition to continuing to explore her skills. Things have gotten decidedly better since then and she's learned it's better not to be on her own all the time. She's now living in the foothills of the Wrothgar mountains north of Evermoor (something else her mother does not appove of) but spends most of her time travelling, looking to help wherever she can.

    75GUBtjh.png

Saggitam Ad Genu - imperial crafter (dragonknight)

He was born in a little hamlet in Cyrodiil which was never on any map and probably doesn't exist any more. He wasn't interested in farming and there were no other prospects so as soon as he could he joined the army and headed off to see the world. He stayed in the Imperial legions for years and did get to see large parts of the world, as well as learning all kinds of skills and even some magic.

In what proved to be a stroke of luck he was discharged from the army due to a permanent injury just before things in Cyrodiil turned weird. He spent a few years travelling and considered becoming an adventurer but found it if anything more stressful than being a soldier (especially when injured) so he decided it was time to settle down. He moved to Summerset, on the basis that it was the most peaceful of all the places he'd seen, and the elves aren't so bad once you get used to them, and used the skills he'd learned in the army to start retaining as a crafter. He lived in Vulkhel Guard for a few years before Queen Ayrenn opened the borders and he got permission to move to Alinor.

He says he's fully retired from fighting, but things keep drawing him back in. Especially getting kidnapped on the way home from the pub one night, by some kind of weird cult who had the audacity to sacrifice him! Even retired that's not the kind of insult he could let go (and I wanted the skill points!) so for a while he got drawn back into all that mess, but now he is definitely (mostly) retired!

    4IXg5vGh.png

    Danika - khajiit templar

Danika won't say much about her early life. She was born in the Tenmar forest, close to Torval and the border with Valenwood and trained as a hunter. She says she absolutely does not trust the Dominion or their intentions for the Khajiit and left home just ahead of the elves moving in, but something about the way she says it implies there wasn't a lot for her to leave behind by that point. She wandered north to escape the fighting and found only more fighting, so she kept going north and east until she found herself in High Rock and couldn't go any further.

Since then she's slowly built a new life for herself, learning and integrating into breton and redguard culture, in spite of their weird ideas about personal property. But as much as she might find the customs and the deserts strange and the rest of the land too cold and open she's getting used to her new life. She met Danielle when she was just starting out as an adventurer and the two fell in together, even living together once they could afford a place of their own (Danielle sensibly didn't ask where Danika got most of the money). Danika probably won't ever settle down entirely and is always on the move, but High Rock is definitely her home now.

More from the police blotter, this time the Alinor Superior Tribune:

A Khajiit variously known as "Catsmoke", or "Stinky Cat", is being sought on suspicion of petty theft, grand theft - music box, impersonating an agent of the Divine Prosecution, impersonating a "Tank", bank fraud, operating an unlicensed brothel, impersonating a pirate, and diverse crown store scams.

The suspect is a tiger striped male of medium build and height with an irritating Breton accent.

Catsmoke's three wives were apprehended and brought before Justiciar Earwineriel of the Divine Prosecution but little evidence was gathered as a cat fight erupted. Procedures related to witness interrogation are being reviewed for likely implementation.

The accused felon remains at large and is to be considered armed but not particularly dangerous.

I remember lying in my hammock in the treetops of home in Valenwood listening to the hollow tinkling of the bone chimes as the breeze gently batted them. No other sound could bring the peace and relaxation that they did. I always loved the smooth and cold feel of bone and leather and the sounds bone make when they are struck.
I was taught about the cycles of nature, the seasons and that life begins then grows and ages the same way leaves bud, open and go from green to brown and then it rots away like the crumbling of the dry dead leaves. Life was important and the green was to be protected with the green pact.
I was also taught never to waste anything and every part of the animals we hunted and ate was used in some fashion with nothing leftover. It always seemed somehow a dichotomy that when our elders joined the mundus that although they had passed their knowledge on to the next Elder that their physical remains and life energy was no longer any use yet we were taught not to waste anything. The conflicts in Tamriel finally started to affect our areas and we became aware of a strange cult of people.
I scouted the worm cult through the vines as they encroached on our territories and curiously watched to learn more before going to make my report. I could see that they had captured a young male wood elf from our outpost that I had grown up with. He was bound in magical wards and biting and clawing every way possible to try to escape. I watched as he was drawn into the black circle they had made. The four worm cult members drew sigils with their hands and chanted exotic sounding phrases and a hazy purpleish blue light channeled through the elf drawing out his life energy and funneling it into what I now know is a black soul gem. His form collapsed to the ground like a ragdoll and wax empty. The cult members then placed ritual candles around him and invoked more arcane words and his form stiffly moved and rose to its feet. They packed up their possessions and the elf followed them passively carrying their belongings in a pack on his back with a shambling gait. I hid in the branches too shocked and transfixed to move or comprehend what I'd seen. I was horrified completely but also fascinated.
I got back to the outpost and told the elders what I had witnessed and they decried the filthy necromancy and vowed to track down the culprits but I had spent so long transfixed that the trail was cold and signs of magical teleportation were left at the end of the trail. They had left for some unknown destination. The elders disgust with Mannimarcos followers and the mindless state my kinsman was left in made me vow to learn everything I could about necromancy in order to stop my kin from being subdued in this way and largely because I was grimly fascinated.
I travelled to Grahtwood for books and traded with Baandari and other more shady individuals to get tomes about the worm cult, Molag Bal and real tomes of extreme necromantic power and learning. I spent my late adolescence reading everything I could get my hands on and learning the finest points of the arts of stealth and evading the law in order to procure even more rare and illegal volumes.
I realised that although I had been horrified by what I'd seen the necromancers do there was a certain beauty to it. No part of my kin was wasted although he no longer had his freedom mentally or physically. They used his essence in the soul gem later for some purpose unknown but the tomes explained many uses for black soul gems. His body did not rot away to dust. There was a certain elegance to it. I wouldn't see it happen to another wood elf I cared about though. What if necromancy could be put to better uses?
I read about bringing back long lost mer by certain rituals the complexity increasing with the length of time since they were lost. I read about using soul gems to form wards and locks, to enchant clothing, armor and jewellery, to bind the minds of pets and servants and many other exotic uses. My favourite tome was the rarest, oldest tome snatched from one of the darkest places in oblivion. It told of a possible way to bind ones essence to a phylactery which could be stored in a pocket plane of oblivion heavily warded meaning that essentially your form and being can never be lost again and you have immortality. I immediately knew that I was going to learn everything I could about this and work towards achieving this end. First I would become immortal myself and then I would raise my King, an Ayleid of ancient times who I had read much about with knowledge of necromancy and the arcane, a sharp wit and martial prowess and a worthy partner in undead eternity for me.

I knew my history and the enslavement and diminishment of mer by man and how they inflict their ways onto other races. The dominion needed help now more than ever and although the Dunmer and Orsimer were in the wrong alliance they would come to see the benefits I'm sure or learn to serve . Even Queen Ayren couldn't have a better plan than I. That feckless fool Mannimarco was stupid to try to take on my master Molag Bal. I will be an exponentially better necromancer than he ever was. I will have eternity to practice my art and bring peace, prosperity and beauty to all mer who will be served by men. I have used my powers to gain gold and renown already and amassed huge wealth. I have helped countless Fool's raise lost pets and relatives, enchanted items and areas and formed lucrative alliances. I am friends with many members of the dark brotherhood who have passions complementary to my own. They often don't mind if a cadaver of one of their latest offerings to Sithis goes missing. No body, no investigation.
I too joined the brotherhood and give many offerings to Sithis but my goals are in service of my own pursuits and I find the mysteries of Sithis too obscure for my taste but the organisation assists greatly in helping me to achieve my goals although I only get the cadavers in this arrangement as the souls go to the void. There are no shortage of other souls for me to harvest though. Sithis and a few select members of the brotherhood do not seem to care as long as certain sacraments are honoured. I have erected by my necromantic will a fortress, castle and palace all in one for me and my Ayleid King to rule Tamriel from. I have learned the beauty of Molag Bals domination from all my studies of tomes and time in coldharbour and he is my true master although I have made many deals for power. I have learned that we can dominate the green and harvest its energy and we can use it for our purposes and by doing so it no longer has a short and meaningless cycle but eternal use. It is really dominating to preserve which is true beauty. To live is to die but in undeath is eternity. I will find a way to make those deserving mer eternal and my King and I will lead them to eternal victory.

This is from the journal of my wood elf Vamiril Corspebloom who follows Molag Bal, Peryite and other daedra to get power she craves. She has moments of lucidity/sanity where she helps those of Tamriel also.

From an unimportant family in House Redoran, she fought as a Captain in the Pact Army in Cyrodiil during the Three Banners War. She was sent to capture Lake Arrius Caverns for an upcoming assault on Cheydinhal. Unfortunately, Mannimarco's Worm Cult already infested the caves. She was overwhelmed, captured, and eventually sacrificed to Molag Bal. When she woke in Coldharbor, she was soulless and a Vestige of her former self...

I have a lot, since she is a Khajiit loyal to the Ebonheart Pact.

    Star-Singer

    4-Star Ebonheart Pact Khajiit Sorcerer

Star-Singer was born a slave to a Telvanni magister, and was taught basics of magic after showing interest in it. She mostly had interest in Conjuration. The son of the magister was jealous, and around the age of 15, she was sold off to a Dres plantation. Of course, being Dres, they treated Star pretty much like crap. At age 20, after learning one of the Overseers began mistreating various Khajiit much harsher than usual, she summoned a Daedra in secret. The Daedra offered her knowledge to conjure stronger Daedra, as well as the dark magics of Daedra, for her soul as the price. She more than readily accepted, not too aware of the true meaning of the price. Once that Overseer cornered her one night, out of a panic, Star summoned a Clannfear. However, her lack of experience and being in a rush caused the conjuring to be faulty. The Clannfear came out extremely aggressive and ripped the Overseer's throat out. Dres guards managed to take down the beast, and when they went to take out Star-Singer, other Khajiit came to her side with claims about said Overseer. With that, they were unsure of what to do with her. The guards took her from the plantation and brought her to Mournhold to wait for a transport to Tear for trial. There, an Ebonheart Pact general saw her and learned of her new-found skills in magic. With that, they decided to have her be conscripted into the Pact. In the Pact, Star tasted freedom for the first time. Over time, she proved her mettle and ascended into the higher ranks. She gained even more note through her exploits through the main story quests, Ebonheart zone quests, and DLC quests.

    Path.

She lived in a galaxy, far, far away.

Woke to a new world. Bright. Interesting. Perhaps a place to call home but, she missed her ship. As in Space ship.

Often called a "Space Cadet." She likes to think of it as a term of endearment but others may think otherwise.

Many voyages through her life. One brought attention to her. Perhaps a bit too much. Never believe what others term as reality.

Truth is, she has friends she has never met. Two that are very special. Are they real friends? Yes. They just live a world shared but separate.

My love to all Sunder. Lanisius and Xtreme.
