How do I get rid of icons other players put on my character?

IMHO, this should disappear once you’re no longer in group. Ody’s Support Icons let’s you have icons on other players without effecting everyone else’s display, which is nice. I don’t mind if it helps others while grouped, but they should disappear after. Others have told me to hold tab to set or change these, but I’ve long reassigned tab to weapon swap. I cannot find a control to change in the keybinds, and it’s getting really annoying. Help!

Here's where I found the default Tab keybind, "Cycle Preferred Enemy Target" under Targeting.



Maybe assign another key to that control, and hope it behaves the same way it does with the default Tab keybind?

@Araneae6537 go to the icon menu (I think it's tab on PC) and look at your toon and while looking at your toon add the existing icon currently over your character's head to your character again and it will remove it from you. I totally agree that once you leave the group it should auto-remove the icons assigned by the group and am baffled why it doesn't currently function like this.

Yes, and that doesn’t work to remove it, unfortunately.

I agree that they should probably be automatically removed after leaving group.
But, it is fairly simple to do so. Just hold tab and select the marker you want to remove, if you're not targeting anything else, it'll affect any one assigned to you.

@SilverBride yes, this appears to be about the target markers system that was added to basegame in a recent patch.

@Araneae6537 - temporarily rebind Tab to icon, get rid of the annoying markers, then rebind Tab as you want it.

@Araneae6537 does the key that you bound the menu to not work any longer? If not go with @TaSheen 's advice and revert it to default.

Thank you so much! That is what I was looking for! That’s a other weird thing about this feature — why didn’t it get it’s own keybind category???

It’s the cycle enemy keybind — so weird that it’s not a separate option! At least now I know what key to use!

We desperately need a way to turn off the target marker system entirely. Turn it totally off so the icons don't even appear on our navigation bar, covering up other important icons like crown.
