Hello,

I want to know if you plan to add some mounts to catch for free in game.
On WOW for example there is ~800 mounts, and most of them can be loot in dungeons, world boss, reputations etc. Some are only available from the shop as in ESO too.
That would be a nice feature.

But I agree, WoW and FFXIV do this much, much better than ESO ever has, and more things dropping would be nice.

There's the indriks and quasigriffs from events, but those are slow, you can only get 1 every 3 months by collecting event tickets.

Other than that I think it's just the horses you can buy with gold and a few trial mounts.

There are a lot of cosmetic items you can collect in-game: weapon and armour styles, skins, costumes, pets, emotes and mementos, furnishings etc. It's just that originally mounts weren't a big deal in this game, until the crown store was added (a year after the game came out) there were only the horses bought from stables and the Imperial edition horse.

Won't happen, all pretty/shiny mounts will remain in [snip] cRown store because it's the main revenue for ZOS. Even the Dreadsail Reef trifecta mount is a [snip] uncreative recolor of crate mount [snip]

Some of the creatures has their trophies that an achievement is tied to it. It would be very nice to be able to unlock a mount of applicable creatures when one gets their monster trophy.

But mostly we will not get this and shiny mounts will remain inside the Crown Crates but we have some shiny mounts for completing some of the hardest contents in the game. Sometimes the event rewards are a mount too. But it is a wide topic if one wants to compare their quality to Crown Store one.

Each region could have its own basic mount to buy, nothing fancy, just subtle reskins. Alik'r could have a camel, Rivenspire a spider, Western Skyrim Bristleback, and so on. They could be unlocked through a certain degree of zone progression and then bought with GOLD from stables.

Collectors get things to collect, everyone gets a bit more variety, the game gets a gold sink (I get my boar mount ;p).

I do wish ESO would add more achievable mounts that didn't require crowns or gems. We have a lot of skins and some personalities and such that we can acquire in-game without spending real money, but mounts seem comparatively rare. I played WoW for years and collected hundreds of mounts, all from achievements. That is one of the few things WoW definitely does better.
