Suggestion: Limit guild activities in guild finder.

Say you're like me, someone who has been hoping to find a roleplaying guild. You go into the guild finder and set the search filters for roleplaying guilds and... It's trading guild after trading guild. It's PvP guilds, housing guilds, guilds you don't know the purpose of. If there was an actual honest roleplaying guild you'd never know because every single guild in the guild finder indiscriminately sets all their guild activities as all the activities. Allowing guilds to select activities that they don't actually take part in does nothing but clog up the guild finder and makes other guilds that actually fit the filter get lost. Limiting the additional activities that guilds can select in their guild info to maybe a maximum of 3 could greatly improve the guild finder and help lesser known guilds actually gain members.

Add to that the lack of any search by guild name and it makes finding any guild in-game extremely difficult.

I agree. I had this problem looking for a dungeon guild too, just mostly trial guilds who happen to have a single dungeon chat in their discord that is never used.

I couldn't find the guild of which I'm the leader in the finder, so yeeeeeah, the system is pretty bad. Another suggestion would be to classify activities according to their importance to the guild. For instance, a trading guild would select "trade" as their primary activity, pve as the secondary, and so on. A player looking for a trading guild could then search for those with "trade" as their primary activity.

It's pretty sad you need an addon to be able to search by name...

+1 to OP. Guild finder needs a major overhaul.

In addition to what other players have mentioned (search by name) there should be other methods of sorting results such as by # of players, etc. It's annoying when you are looking for certain types of guilds and the results are filled with pages of random guilds with less than 20 players that are just someone's pet guild and totally irrelevant to what you want to do.

The guild store interface was also very poor and the guild store addon did a much better job of making the sort of interface that ZOS should have had in the first place.

Of course, this was a criticism often levelled at WoW for many years, where the stock auction house UI was god-awful and nearly useless. It took WoW 10+ years to finally make a better auction house UI, but even that is missing many of the features that are still only provided by addons.

I'd love the ability to refine the guild finder search in numerous ways. I wish there was a search by region so I can find guilds more suited to my timezone. I did use the search by active times, but that's not always accurate.

I think you can search by number of members. But it does lack the sorting function.
