Do you do anything special with the game for New Life??

So, I watched some of the ESO's annual cooking stream for the end of the year. This year, they made Sweet Rolls!

During the stream, they mentioned each year this one guild called Vanquish on PC (I am neither in this guild or on PC) puts on a Christmas Carol style play. This year, ZOS will stream it. It's gonna be later than their usual streams. A news post is forthcoming! In the meantime, you can read about the play from last year on this news post.

https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/61441

I too have things I do to celebrate with the festivities.

Every year, I set my New Life/Christmas house as my primary. Quite often, my guilds will have either holiday housing tours or housing contests. This year, one is having a tour.

Here's some pics of my house.

Sidenote: The new furniture item from this year's event was the perfect touch for my house this year! The trees look so much better in the dark lol.

In addition, I really love reading the annual giving thread in the forums!

So, what do you do during New Life besides just the event?

    The main thing is change
my outfit and mount, I really want to get involved in some activities my guild is running, but unfortunately irl stuff is happening so I'm only able to get in briefly, do a couple of event quests and log off.

The giving thread is AMAZING. Never seen something like that before in a game and it's a very positive and cool idea. Unfortunately I'm on ps4 so there haven't been a lot of people for me to send stuff too, but I keep checking!

I run themed trials/fun events every Friday (sometimes naked, sometimes themed costumes, sometimes things like hide and seek). The one before Christmas always has the theme built in - even if just loosely. I also publish a spotify playlist that goes with the theme that we sing along to as well. Next Friday I will put together a Whamageddon playlist and the game will involve some kind of costume element as well

I decorate pine trees and kelp with candles and apples and set out a banquet in my main characters’s homes (Sweetwater in EU and Psijiic on NA). They have a tent with drinks and a bonfire in the gardens too and all my alt characters come to stay for a couple of weeks.

I usually dress my main up for the given event so it fits the theme.
I breaks from the the usual playstyle a little bit and sets the mood.

    Thx4sharing, house looks really cozy.

    Cozy house!

I always participate in the gift giving thread, usually trying to give something to most everyone I can. I've dressed up my main in previous years, though I haven't done so this year.

I wish I was better at housing but I've never quite had the patience for it because I love seeing how everyone has their houses decked out for the holidays.

I don't do anything. I save that sort of thing for real life and home and husband. When I say "my favorite season" I mean winter, not the holiday - I'd prefer to celebrate Pagan Winter Solstice personally (which I do in a way that won't upset his very traditional beliefs).

That said, I do love to cook a huge holiday meal - prime rib and all the fixings.

We're making event houses and so we did for Christmas too. This time we made a "Spot the difference" one and built two almost identical Santa Workshops. If you like to participate you can port to Ravenhurst homes of @bilqis and @kisakee, 11 major differences are waiting to be found. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

To start, I have a dedicated Grandfather Frost character and I have Autumn's-Gate overhauled with snow to be his house and candy-making workshop. I run activities for my guild (12 Days of New Life giveaways, hide and seek across Skyrim, trivia, bingo, etc.) and have carried some of those same activities over to my streams this year as well. Spreading the festive spirit is the best part of the holiday!

    Greetings all,

We'd like to leave a reminder after removing some derailing and off topic posts: We understand everyone has their own thoughts and opinions they would like to share, but commenting on a thread only to Bait or mock those participating in the discussion is never acceptable. The team works hard to ensure the forums are a welcoming place for all members of the Community to share their thoughts, and the Community Rules are in place to help with that.

Please keep the Rules in mind moving forward.

I'm wearing the Colovian fur hood to mark the occasion.

Apart from that, I just had an epiphany of sorts today. I was feeling like my daily ESO activities were a bit too much "same old same old", so I decided that one way to enhance my ESO mojo was variety. How do I get variety? Well, one way is to explore previously neglected skill lines.

I've been playing ESO for about 2.5 years, but never explored the crafting skill lines. Up to now, I've just collected various raw materials and sold them in guild stores, but now I'll be viewing these raw materials in the wild with a completely different eye. I just completed all the training quests for the different crafting types, and now I just need to level them up.

The timing is good on this, of course: between the standard experience scrolls and the occasional swig from the bottomless mead mug (thanks, Breda! :) ), the crafting leveling up should go reasonably quickly. :)

Guild Commander of Vanquish and I hope anyone that enjoys both Christmas and ESO will tune in on Tuesday the 20th for the Bethesda stream of "An ESO Christmas Carol and Trial of the Ages"! It truly is one of a kind and something we do each year to give back to the ESO Community and all the people that make this game our home away from home.

As a guild Vanquish does a lot at the holidays. We have the play performances of course, but we also have Christmas themed housing tours, a guild wide secret Santa, Baby New Year Naked Trials, our annual Christmas Party when we travel Tamriel and give out Christmas pine trees and other items to the community.

I also challenge Vanquish each year to a "Holiday Challenge" which takes place from Thanksgiving to New Years. I challenge all members to participate in completing at least one Random Act of Christmas Kindness per day either in game or in their real life. It doesn't take much to "Pay it Forward" with a kindness, something as small as a smile to brighten a friend or co-workers day or something as large as giving of your time to help someone with a chore in real life, or a dungeon or trial in game. Any random act of kindness done for no reason other than to do it counts!

“Kindness is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon another. If someone is in need, lend them a helping hand. Do not wait for a thank you. True kindness lies within the act of giving without expectation of something in return.” ~ Katharine Hepburn

Vanquish just loves to celebrate life I guess, so we do so daily! (even when it isn't Christmas time)
