vet Moongrave Fane, first boss, does 50k+ damage to random party member after jackhammer phase

Was going for the no death achievement a few times and saw this happening, I was reading on UESP that the damage the boss does increases the closer you are to the jackhammer, but immediately following the phase it would sometimes target the healer or DPS even with the tank having taunt and hit them with a "Boulder" ability and "Shrapnel" ability for all their HP.
