Lag for Australian PvP'ers

Cyrodiil has been laggy for a very very long time now, and I just want to say it on behalf of all high ping, 200+ ping players, PvP is not a functional part of the game for us. Zenimax needs to do something about it, either give us a local server, or this game shouldn't be advertised as a PvP game.
My skills and potions literally only go off if im extremely lucky and after spamming them 10 times, not exaggerating, i can't count how many times i press a skill and then bar swap and turned out the skill didn't go off. I understand this is a regular occurance for low ping players too but it's got to a point that even at down time, when cyrodiil is one bar population, my skills still won't go off.
I can't break free, can't use my potion, can't use any skill, can't interact with wayshrine without spamming E.

Aussies how have you let this game treat you like this for 8 years? I see American players complain about lag all the time yet aussies seem to be fine with it? "it's just like this, i just deal"

I am really hoping that i don't have to take a break from ESO, so please at least tell us if there is a plan for an OCE or Asian mega server.

Sincerely

Don't worry, everyone experiences this. PvP is simply not working regardless of your proximity to a server. Also they haven't promoted it as a PvP game since 2014 or 2015 I believe, even more, PvP has been neglected for many years already.

I've been saying the same thing for ages.

If the laggy Asia/Pacific players stood up for themselves more ZOS might actually take the issue seriously. But instead they all just roll over and accept paying for an under supported game with devs that don't care about our region.

i understand, but the difference is NA players can at least play the game when it's down time, i lag so much always that my animations glitch out, i moved from america to australia and the difference is so much bigger than i expected, like i actually miss NA ping and performance, even though that is abysmal too

I think we should move to the house across the street from the server. There you will have a normal ping. Cyrodiil and also a lot of skills like two-handed weapon spamming ability only for the elite with a ping of 50 or less

They said years ago publicly they will never do an oceania server. Its why 99% of aussies left the game and zos/ESO has no credibility here in australia.

In all honesty, most of us only kept going due to other aspects of the game such as PVE or for friends. Thats it.

Hate to be that guy, but it wont happen. Theres been countless threads (including one spanning almost 8 months and thousands of comments). So from one aussie to another i wouldnt waste time and emotions with it and if you value high ping in pvp, then eso isnt the game for you unfortunately :(

Exactly this. I gave up hoping for an OCE/SEA server ages ago.

I've found that a gaming VPN helps a lot, it won't reduce the base ping we have to play on, but it helps reduce the amount of ping spikes we have to deal with, so you will be playing on a more stable 200 (NA) or 300 (EU) ping instead of a ping that constantly spikes between 200 and 30000+.

It's not the best solution, but its probably the best we can realistically do to try and play the game at a high level considering an oceanic/SEA megaserver has been stated as never going to happen.

I've heard ideas being thrown around for a while now about having localised sub servers around the world that could host instanced content locally (dungeons, delves, bgs, trials, etc), but this wouldn't help with cyrodiil since that is an overland pvp zone, but it would at least give us the option for bgs and end game pve content. Although like a new megaserver, I doubt these would happen either.

I understand why an OCE mega server would never happen, but again, an Asia mega server makes a lot of sense, the potential player population would likely exceed that of NA and EU. I always get people say they wouldn't switch to an Asia server even if ZOS makes one cuz they have a lot of friends on NA. But there's also a lot of people who would very much like to switch if there's the option, not to mention the new players that would be brought in by that.
Final Fantasy didn't have an OCE server until this year, but people were playing on the Asia server perfectly fine.
ESO can't support an OCE server, but why not an Asia server, I'm sure if they wanted to they can make it work, after all that was something they were considering when the game launched, but was indefinitely delayed because of the disastrous launch

The key part of that statement is "if they wanted to" and its fairly clear they don't want to.

I'm in the US and playing cyro with 200 ping so I can only imagine the horrors you guys face.

Yeah, you just deal. Don't run certain builds because you're never, ever going to land that 2h heavy attack. You rely on "always on defences" instead of "reaction time defences", but it's still perfectly doable.
You'll never be able to compete with an equally skilled player on 50 ping, but you can narrow the gap by running a lag meta.

that's the thing, some people play the game to be the best, if you can never be as good as a player with 50 ping simply for that, what's the point of playing? and i already run a very tanky build, people call me maras balm dk all the time when ive never touched the set, but i want to try different builds, i don't want to be stuck with dk or warden just because they're tankier and i have more time to deal with skills not going off

that's like saying because all the McDonald's in Australia put less fries in a box than other places, we should just deal with it because that's just how it is, we should just accept paying the same price for worse products because that's just how we've been treated

I go to a fancy restaurant and they burn my steak. It’s still edible so I give them my money and smile even though I can barely chew through it.

At this point, I'd still stay on NA and deal with horror performance. I've come this far, too committed, too many friends I wouldn't want to leave.

same here and I deal with PC EU performance and a base ping of 100 more than if I were on NA

Saying something years ago, given the tech then, and who hadn't just bought them.... surely they could review that decision now?!
