The SD letter was a really nice read with some very interesting things and overall just really good stuff, I'm back on the hopium for next year, after not playing for over a month and just generally being a nuisance to my copium addict friends this is some good stuff. Not enough for me to reinstall the game but enough so that I'll def be watching that announcement stram next month. now if only we weren't being this heavily censored here...

Also for a very requested system I can't think of anything besides class change I doubt it will be a new class or weapon, what are you all's opinion?

    I'm willing to go all in on the hope and ready to be heartbroken when they mess it up.

    I know I can be really snarky on the forum, but that's honestly because I want the game to be as good as it can be. It has so much potential, and so much mistakes...

    I hear some people about spellcrafting, could be interesting.

    More of a mixed hopium situation, since we've been let down a lot. Like I wrote in the pinned thread, I'm fully in favour of the decision to devote a quarter to QoL and fixes, as long as they actually come through (because we've seen many promises in the Director's letter that never came to fruition). I'm not a big fan of year-long stories, so I think the contained chapter, and the multi-year approach will be a pleasant break from the mold. As for the new system, my mind went inevitably to spellcrafting, but one of my guildmates more reasonably suggested overland difficulty, which would make more sense, and would be welcomed by a lot of players.

    possible but it's one of those cases where it's hard to see how they'd go at a overland difficulty adjustment, as for spellcrafting honestly... I'd rather they don't it would be a mess to balance if done in a complex enough way to be fun or on the other side so shallow as to be pointless, I understand the feeling of people who want this feature but I just don't see it ever working for an MMO.

    I noticed they said it was a feature with the chapter and a system in Q4. Makes me think we shouldn't expect too much from the chapter. Still a little hopeful it'll be something we do actually want (like hair dying maybe, or a solition for guild houses & attuned stations) but I'm not expecting anything that big.

    Mostly it seems to be a way of them saying we're getting less and should be happy about it

    Well, honestly a lot of the feedback was that 4 DLC's a year was too much. Not really for us, but they don't seem to be able to deliver the quality.

    I rather have them work longer to give us some really good content, than give us mediocre and bugged content multiple times a year.

    They literally said "We will return to larger/better and more detailed Chapters..."

    I'm not jumping on the hopium bandwagon. I'll weigh things when I know more information. Just given how things have been handled this year especially, I'm not preordering or buying anything more than the base offerings. It's good to read that the Chapter is intended to be more feature-rich, but time will tell how true that is. I'm mostly curious what business drivers led to them changing the release cadence. If nothing else, I'm happy the game is still going and more content is coming.

    "Harder" is a very vague term. How much harder? Could range from public dungeon difficulty to veteran dlc dungeon. I'm afraid they won't touch that with a ten foot pole because it would be nigh impossible to satisfy the majority, let alone everyone.

    I think it will depend on how it's implemented. If it's a separate instance, as I suspect it will be, it will probably be like a vet dlc dungeon but tuned to solo play. So probably like VMA but shorter.

    Did we read the same letter? ZoS literally just said "we'll do better" and "we're listening" exactly like the past dozen times their efforts were found wanting and hinted at some vague new system that could be a gold fish that you have to feed for your house or it dies for all we know. Words from ZoS no longer give me hope; the only thing that matters from ZoS is meaningful action, which we've seen a disturbing lack of lately.

    I've put up with their insane reliance on interminable RNG grinds, their whiplash-inducing gameplay changes, each of which made playing the game progressively less enjoyable, and their egotistical dismissals of our concerns, all because they were delivering on the most important thing, story.

    Then came Firesong. Not every story DLC was great, but this was the first to be insultingly bad. Now, we're only getting one new story-based zone next year?

    HOPE? Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?!?! Nope, all Firor has inspired in me is despair. He has promised to fulfill my worst fears for this game.

    Spell Crafting has been requested for years, but I can't imagine how it'd actually work.

    I liked the Firesong story a lot, so I guess it's a taste thing.

    I'm hoping the 2023 chapter will be back on par with Morrowind and Summerset. If so, I'll be happy with that. If not, then the new feature will have to be really good. I'm not interested in vet overland, so if it's that, I'll be disappointed. I'm hoping it's something else.

    I guess we'll find out in January.

    But, if they're going to make some things harder for Vet players, then they need to make current Vet things easier for non-Vet players to balance it out.

    Could be a new PvP mode like naval PvP. Though, I’m not sure if splitting the PvP community into more modes would be good or not. Naval PvP sounds fun, though…

    I highly disagree. Vet should absolutely not be made easier. A lot of vet content is already pretty easy for vet players, like non dlc dungeons and even burnable dungeons like castle thorn. We need something to do, vet is for us. I do think, though, if vet overland is going to be added then it should be optional or located in certain areas like with Craglorn. I miss being scared of gryphons but I can understand not everyone wants to have trouble in overland, or they do already.
