i had this fever dream of a classic situation of a thief trying to sneak into a keep; and on his way in he overhears two guards (players) just chilling on the wall having a totally normal conversation that would make you think they werent actually guards but just chill doods or something as he continues past...

That's a fine idea for people who want to have that RP experience. Sadly, they are overwhelmingly outnumbered by the people who want this feature to make constant fart noises and spew racism and do everything they can to be as annoying as possible.

- Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
- Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I have some good memories from the chaos that followed.

✭✭✭✭✭Planetside 1 and 2 had /yell chat that let players communicate across factions. Even color coded the player's name to their faction color, and there was fun banter to be had during the large scale battles. Of course that game's community was all 100% PvP focused and you could get away with something like that, but I honestly would love to see something similar in ESO.

On the other hand... as a poor PVE player trying to run the gauntlet in Cyrodiil in order to finish off a crafting writ... I might be able to plead for my life, or use my character's natural charisma to get out of dicey situations (nah, probably get me killed faster), and let's not forget the classic - simply bribing my way out of certain death.... it could open up some interesting possibilities.

toxicity is a pretty much unavoidable problem in my eyes.. they could also update chat settings so you dont have to hear people outside of your party or faction or start banning overly toxic people... its a shame that we cant have nice things because we just dont provide incentive to be decent human beings.... drawing the line in the sang as to what makes a person too toxic or not is sadly complicated these days..0 -
