ESO Thornmarsh: is it a good idea?

One day I wanted to go to the east coast of Tamriel, but then I realized the only place where the devs added the east coast was a couple of tiny banks in Deshaan! The same goes for Black Marsh, too, the only parts of the marsh that are really Black Marsh-y are Shadowfen and Murkmire! (and Norg-Tzel but nobody cares about Norg-Tzel). We definitely need more east coast and more Black Marsh, so I stumbled upon Thornmarsh, a region of Black Marsh on Tamriel's east coast. I originally wanted to post this as an actual suggestion, but then I realized the reason Tamriel's east coast was left so Inaccessible was because there wasn't much content there. All I know about Thornmarsh is that it was a region occupied by house Dres at some point. Eventually I decided to ask you all whether or not Bethesda should add Thornmarsh. I may just be babbling here and not know what I'm talking about, but I think ESO: Thornmarsh would be a fun DLC. In other words, ZONE IDEA REPORTED! DISCUSS!

I feel Thornmarsh would end up being dunmer focused. But would have to explore the Dres and slavery's going to be a big thing given just all the stuff there is for the Dres.

That's if what i recall of Thornmarsh containing the Dres capital of Tear.

@Sp3d_scout you're a lot more into all this than I am.
I say yes. I like new places to explore.

House Dres? Is that a rapper?

Totally uninterested in more argonian/dunmeri content any time in the near future.

On the one hand, that whole part of the map being so remote is interesting.

On the other hand, like the poster above me, I am not at all eager to have more Dunmer or Argonian content any time soon.

Would like to see some love for the Orcs, Redguards or Imperials (since they got pretty shortchanged in Blackwood with the Chapter being like 1/3 Argonian and 1/3 Oblivion, and 1/3 Imperial).

I’ve hated every piece of Argonian content ESO has pushed out and ZOS have proven they can’t get Dunmer right since 2014. (Sotha Sil and his city being the exception).

I’d rather go to Hammerfell or get something actually Breton related. Maybe the Western Reach for more Reachmen lore. Or perhaps Falenesti.

Nords are dull but surely Whiterun can’t go too wrong? Winterhold?

Or finally fill out some weird gaps like Central Elsweyr?

Morrowind is best left in the hands of the Tamriel Rebuilt team and Black Marsh is best left in the trash.

I've mentioned Thornmarsh being a possible spot for a chapter more than once. It got two good cities on opposite sides of the border with House Dres' capital Tear and the argonian city Thorn.

It would be a good spot to show more of House Dres, which has been the less shown House, some more Argonians and also their tense relationship and how it affects the Ebonheart Pack.

But I also love argonians compared to some previous commenters so I like seeing them getting more content like Murkmire. No, Blackwood wasn't very argonian themed neither was it imperial. It was mainly daedra themed.

Though I would prefer to get bosmer, redguard or a proper imperial chapter before that.

I could've said a not so nice comeback here, but I shall not, and instead let it flow down the stream and be forgotten.

I agree, we need more reguard or imperial zones, but doesn't it upset you that the east coast of Tamriel looks a little zonally barren?

    Um. No.

High Rock is done. Like that's why they did the Systes for the Bretons because all of High Rock is done and Wrothgar retconned the Nords and Bretons from living in the area and since HR is done that also includes the Western Reach which in in Bangkorai and Wrothgar.

That small gap contains Jehanna the city that doesn't exist yet so it's empty space for the Orc strongholds to raid into Oblivion. And Jehanna was a Nordic Kingdom before they lost it to the Bretons hence a certain war in the Third era but given the changes with Wrothgar it's hard to tell on the state of Jehanna given it was meant to be with the Nordic Empire.

I would love more Argonian zones! Xanmeers are awesome, and the lore surrounding the ancient Saxhleel and the Duskfall is so interesting. Any time I play in a zone with that stuff in it, I feel as if I'm exploring a Mayan jungle filled with lost ruins. Murkmire is one of my top 3 provinces.

I would personally like to see another region like Gold Coast or more Imperial oriented - Gold Coast is one of my favorite zones, I just love the color tone and rocky terrain; Cyrodiil is sadly robbed of being a proper zone due to being fairly empty and PVP oriented, and Blackwood was just more ugly marshy Argonian stuff that I was never a fan of. I don't want to see any Argonian/marshy stuff for a while since it was in the last expansion.

It would be interesting to see more Dunmeri content, since Morrowind was very early on in the game, but they would probably recycle a lot of the models and textures, which would defeat the purpose of seeing it refreshed. I really wish they would replace the way the mushroom towers look, they're kinda ugly in ESO compared to the other games.

Another region like Alik'r Desert would be nice; it's one of the base-games zones that I never do anything with and would be happy to see that kind of desert (not the Elsweyr kind) revisited.

Overall, I would be interested in seeing something done with the blank section on the world map

Any Dunmeri region or DLC gets a stamp of approval from me. Seriously, who doesn't want to see more of Naryu? Or Mel?

I'd love more Dunmer and Argonian stuff. Honestly Dunmer stuff has been recently datamined so it seems likely that might be our next expansion.

I wouldn't mind a Redguard DLC but I don't think they'll touch that until at the same time as TES 6 or after to keep as close to base game lore as possible
