✭Drum stiiiiick. It's all very very good, it isn't so much about what your first grab is but how much you can fit on your first plate. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and Mac n cheese. Plate 2 is for the cranberry sauce, cooked carrots, brussel sprouts and whatnot... Cuz it's important to eat healthy before you fill your third plate up with pies!2 -

Not here. Turkey (whole) is .79 US a pound this year at one of the store chains; chicken is 1.59 US a pound (for a whole roasting chicken). Of course a whole turkey weighs a lot more than a whole chicken!______________________________________________________

- Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
- Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

The most astonishingly bad dish this one tried was a “green bean casserole”, concocted by someone who threw a tin of green beans, a tin of mushroom soup and a tin of chicken stock into a baking dish, bake, and called it a side dish. It was incredibly salty but otherwise flavourless.
The best? The sides. Oh the homemade buttery and soft dinner rolls, the sweet potato mash thing with little marshmallows on top (so sweet it should be criminalised) and the stuffing that’s not prestuffed from the innards of a bird but baked in own tray.
With all this reminiscence, Sammy must now investigate into cooking an impromptu, late thanksgiving meal this weekend 😸Edited by SammyKhajit on November 25, 2022 6:10AM4 -

✭✭✭✭✭TurkeyWe don't do thanksgiving in the UK, and the one time I was in the USA for it I can't remember what I had first (it was about 15 years ago).
I was with about 30 people in what was basically a cafeteria, so the food was served cafeteria style rather than in the middle of the table and what I picked up first was whatever was at the end of the row. I remember being surprised by a lot of the options because I'd assumed it would be basically the same as British Christmas dinner but a lot of it was different, like cornbread instead of stuffing and some kind of green bean stew (which I didn't have because it had mushrooms in). Also the mashed sweet potato was sweeter than I expected, more like the pie filling than the fries, I think it had a lot of sugar in it which was weird for an otherwise savory meal.
