Lead drop rates for Dungeons

I have been trying to farm the two leads for the Shapeshifter's MYTHIC from the two dungeons, Vaults of Madness and Spindleclutch II. I have spent about 24 hours of total game play time over a period of 3 days, with at least 20+ runs in Vaults of Madness, and 15+ runs in Spindleclutch II. Neither lead drops. And of course, there is always a wait in que in between runs for PUG. Why does this take soooooooooooooo llloooooonnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg? Are the lead drops BROKEN?

Exactly how is a casual player supposed to get the leads for mythic items if they have to spend DAYS AND DAYS with 10, 20, 30 dungeons runs, to get ONE PIECE of a mythic item? It is already a pain to level up the Scrying skill line to even be able to find and dig the leads. I was trying to farm this mythic for a Werewolf build I found interesting, but I guess I'll just give up. If I have to spend 10's of hours farming one leads out of five leads, then have to scrying an dig all the items needed to obtain a mythic, then I guess if I choose to continue to play this game anymore, I'll have to do it without the mythics that this game has decided need to be so difficult and time consuming to get. I don't expect to just get stuff, but at the same time, someone explain to me why I need to run ONE DUNGEON FOR ONE LEAD FOR ONE MYTHIC 25+ TIMES? Is the lead drop broken? How about a moderator respond to this? Are these leads broken? Why is the lead not dropping within 25 runs?

It is very unreasonable to expect a casual player to have to spend days and days and days with 10's of runs in one dungeon to farm one lead. I have played this game for 3 years now. It took me six months of daily interaction with the game just to level my stupid horse up all the way. Can't play PvP because of lag. Waiting in que for 10, 20, 33 minutes for PUGS to run specific dungeons is ridiculous. It takes too long to run the dungeons by myself and I still didn't get a drop doing them alone. Lag seems to be getting worse in PvE areas also. And don't say it's my Internet connection either.

Does anyone think it is enjoyable to run the same content over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, just to get one lead? I sure don't. I would much rather be spending my time playing the build I want to make than run Vaults of Madness 25+ times.

Like a lot other things the RNG usually sucks. I just stopped caring about it and it's much better for my mental well being.

Incidentally does this lead drop at a higher rate in veteran rather than normal versions of the dungeon?

Not that I can find anywhere. I read a post on Reddit and that writer didn't seem to notice a difference.

    Leads should be tradable.

I feel your pain. I have done some hardcore farming for leads but dungeon ones are the worse, mainly because you need other people.

I still have to get the lead in imp city dungeon and that one is a long af dungeon. Speed run is 45 mins!

Yeah the way leads work is really awful if you have a job and family.

If a lead has a 5 percent chance of dropping (probably what it actually has) and if it doesn't drop first run, then it should get an additional 20 percent chance, so 25 percent chance, on the 2nd run.

If it doesn't drop then, 3rd run should have another 20 percent chance, so 45 percent chance.

If not then, the fourth run would have 65 percent chance.

    5th run, 85 percent chance.

This way it still requires effort but isn't a crazy time sink. Adult gamers don't have that kind of time.

I did like 60+ daily quests for the markyn lead. It should have a ramping chance similar to the proposed dungeon one.

ALL leads should have ramping chances.

I think we could use a pity system for all leads.

Once the bug and workaround was found for the blacksmithing writ lead, it took me about 5 attempts to get it. I'm now long past 200 attempts to get the second copy with no success. (the first mythic item is complete)

If each failed attempt at any lead added some % to the next attempt and so on, we would eventually be guaranteed to get the lead.

Leads with a low drop chance, especially those combined with lengthy or a locked number of daily activities (writs, bequeather) can be incredibly frustrating. I'm also well over 100 mage guild dailies without my 3rd copy of that lead.

What bug? Is this where you need to do voidsteel blacksmith writs?

Also what drops from mage guild dalies?

Just wait until you try to get the lead from Dragonstar Arena. Nothing like locking a lead behind a 45 minute boring arena that nobody really wants to have run. 30+ runs and no lead.

With the Watcher boss from ICP being a close second.

If you are getting a lead from a dungeon boss the RNG should be at least 1 in 4. Its ridiculous that you can do multiple runs with nobody getting the lead.

Thankfully I got that lead within 3-4 runs, which was kind of a moot point since it took thousands of watchling kills in order to get that lead...

I don't know why ZOS makes some leads so hard to get that even a daily persistent player like me gives up. It's not to their benefit to make something I do solely for fun, that makes money solely from entertaining people to create something that so much not fun that I just stop.

I really enjoy the scrying and digging things up, getting the leads not so much.

Perfect example was the Spaulder lead from lockboxes in Blackwood. Opened dozens of master chests, nothing. Stumble on an intermediate and get the lead. There is no rhyme or reason to it.

@CGPsaint oh, I'm still there. "Hey, lets put a lead on an add that rarely gives any drops, then make the drop rate of the lead ridiculously low. People will love it!"

An update to this post. I finally got the Shapeshifter's lead that drops in Spindle Clutch II on the 17th (Seventeen) run.

So far, I have run the Vaults of Madness dungeon 27 times on one too and no drop. Again, that's on one toon. I tried switching to a different toon and ran it on that toon 3 times; no drop. My last a attempt was a few days ago. At this point I'm so frustrated I don't know if I will try again.

I contacted Customer Support and reported my problem and asked if the lead was bugged or if there was a known issue. Customer Service made it a point to tell me that they cannot award a lead to a player. They reported that there were no known bugs to the drop. They confirmed that the lead I wanted drops from Vaults of Madness, and they wished me luck in getting it.

OK, developers and creators, you need to address the drop rate issue of leads. I do not expect to get something in the game on the first run or even the fourth run or get them easily. But is 27+ runs to get a lead, a lead I still don't have, and the last lead that I need to obtain a mythic, really intended? If not, please fix this.

I am a 52 year old casual player. I have played video games from a few hours every couple of months, to several hours a week, 4-5 times a week, for most of my adult life. Gaming is not a priority. It is an activity I do when there is nothing else to do that interests me. I started out on an Atari 2600 that I got for Christmas when it first came out. I really like this game because of the diversity of play. I really like PvP but I have been avoiding playing PvP here recently because the Xbox Grey Host server at 6pm CST is not playable because of lag. If I play at 10am CST, it is somewhat playable. For me, PvP is mostly a lag fest. And I am talking press a button and wait 2-3 seconds kind of lag. And it is not my connection or router or anything on my end.

With all that being said, there are certain elements of this game and take way too long, for what I feel is the average, casual player, who, like me, might play 4-8 hours in a 7 day period. Please adress these aspects of the game to make the game more casual friendly. An example: Why does it take 6 months of daily interaction with the game to upgrade your horse? Another: Why is it taking me 27+ times of running one dungeon for a lead, and remember, I still don't have it?

    Thanks
