[snip] is up with the rng rate for blue monkfish and blackspotted pike!
My head is about to explode.

Best I can do is offer to replace the soon to be broken wall for a nominal fee.

Yep, the drop rate is poor. That's one of the factors that made me stop fishing, because it takes too much time doing nothing (what I find boring) for quite often no results. It's like double pain somehow.

If they could find a way to bring some more "excitement" to that activity, that would help... :|

I honestly hope you were using fishing CP nodes instead of combat ones alongside Artaeum food running.

If your plan is to complete a zone before moving on to another... you're gonna have a bad time!

And if it only took three days before "wall bashing frustration" has kicked in... this may not be a chievo for you. lol

    A possible plan...

For myself, I picked a zone... and a water source (i.e saltwater)... then started somewhere in the zone. Walked along the source and fished until I brought up the greens (or if I lucky and got the blue, I'd just fish up the greens as well), then move to another zone, I'd maintain the saltwater theme and do the same.

This provided a change of scenery as well as avoiding frustration of "waiting" on a particular drop in any one zone.

I'd rinse and repeat that until bored and then move back to other things.

When returning to the achievement, I'd either pick-up where I left off (in zone and water type) or choose a different water source and start from the start.

That just left picking the stragglers up from each zone at the end (and of course starting and completing Cyro - which I (and most, I'd imagine) leave for last (unless you're a PVP'er).

It's definitely a LONG journey. Took me almost two years (granted it is a bit easier now with the CP options and how they've modified showing the bait and water types on screen). None of that existed when I completed this so doing this today, it should be quicker, but YMMV.

Pro-tips: Fish with a buddy. Two people (three max) will maximize your chances of catching the rare fish. And/or you could make (or buy) the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl food, which will increase your chances of catching rare fish (akin to fishing with another person).

Good luck on your fishing trip! It is certainly a cool title (only one my main has sported since attaining it many years ago), so settle in and keep going, even when it gets frustrating (and it will as you have already seen), but it'll make sporting that title even more satisfying when it finally pops for you!

    Cheers!

Yes, the Artaeum food helps a lot, along with the CP slottables if you have them. Still, those blue fish can be elusive. If I fished for an hour or so and didn’t get it, I’d just move on to the next zone and come back later.

It gets a bit frustrating when a zone only has three water types instead of four and you keep catching the wrong blue fish. I have two characters that are master fishermen and was working on a third when account wide achievements ruined it.

A friend had ten characters with the achievement when the account wide fiasco happened.

We were in a guild that ran a fishing event once a week and that really helped.

I did a lot of my fishing waiting for a trial group to fill. I also would keep an eye out for players in zone asking for help. If someone wanted help with a world boss or something I would go hep them then get back to my fishing. That helps break it up some.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Auridon was actually one of my easier zones.
The zone I've had the worst time in so far is Shadowfen. So few fishing nodes, in general, relative to how much the place is covered in water. One of the green Lake fish and one of the Foul fish (the Coelacanth, which I think is blue) were my banes in that zone. The Coelacanth especially tried my patience.

But Cyrodiil (of all places) took less time for me than Auridon to complete (with an AD character for the Ocean, Lake, and River fish, and DC for Foul.)
I feel like I got lucky there.

DEFINITELY make use of the two green CP nodes for fishing and the Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl.
You will have a much worse time of it without those things.

(I created three "fishing characters" [one in each Alliance, for Cyrodiil] solely for the purpose of this achievement just so I wouldn't have to fiddle around with the CP and inventory space of my other characters.)

      Are you using fish food?
Are you running the Green CP to both boost drop rates AND speed things up?
Are you running an add-on to make it easier to notice when to pull the line up (which helps you speed things up).

I found most zones had 1 fish that came way after the others - but thankfully for me the worst was only about 4 hours on 1 fish, which is very good compared to some people.

I actually did Cyro first on my four MAs. I wanted it out of the way.... but really, I didn't have any problems at all there - never got killed once. I still have two to go, on my newest account on both PC servers.

I haven't been able to get this because it requires you to go into Cyrodiil. No thanks.

I spent a year getting this damn achievement. Last fish was in Cyrodiil. Fish was in enemy territory, only 3 damn hotspots. I fished that location for 3 solid weeks, no luck. Also, nobody ganked me. Finally got it when an enemy player and I were working the same hotspot. It's just the entire achievement sucks. When I did it, there were no buffs of any kind. I almost ragequit the game twice.

Master angler took me around 5 days. I suggest slotting fishing CPs from green tree and having artaeum pickled fish bowl food up all the time, it makes a huge difference.

With the CP and food, it took me just over an hour per zone to get the achievement. Coldharbour was the worst zone for me.

Use the Arteum pickled lure. Can buy it from traders. It is SOOO much easier to get the rare fish.

I had no problems fishing in Cyrodiil. In fact, at least one enemy fished with me.

OP, my last fish in the Rift took two weeks of daily fishing... I hope your RNG won't be as bad, but just to put it into perspective that it can get very tedious, and bang-head-at-the-wall-y. I recommend to watch something on the side to pass the time, and if you are on PC, to get Votan's addon that gives out a sound when it's time to reel in, so even if your attention wanders, you won't miss a catch.

This specific achievement is going to take you weeks, you'd do well to alter your mindset accordingly. Distract yourself while you fish. Listen to music, watch YouTube on another screen etc. RNG, WILL, wrong you during the journey, you will catch dozens of fish before looting the one you need, and you'll burn thru stacks of your bait. But, it's not impossible.
