Chat window fading much more quickly?

I allow my chat window to fade to 100% transparency when it's not being used, but I'm finding that lately the chat window has been fading much more rapidly than it has in the past. I'll be trying to read a message and it disappears while I am, which was never a problem before.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to change the time elapsed before the chat fades? I still want it to go to 100% transparent when not in use, but I need a little bit more time between

I have noticed that and take advantage of it in my guide for immersion :

To my knowledge once you set it at 100% transparency it is the fastest the screen fades away.

A solution I have in mind is using an chat addon that lets you toggle it

or others one that could fix that, its not my forte so maybe take a look in the

ESO UI chat addons

I thought this was just me; it now often disappears faster than I can read it all. I recall pChat having something about this in its change log. Just checked, it's this "-Added new settings for customizable chat text fade out start time, and duration time" I will have to edit that to make it not leave so quick.

My chat box seems to persist for 5 minutes before it fades. Maybe something to do with using both controller and kb/m.

I found the same. pChat was set at a couple seconds duration. It's a quick fix in settings to increase the time to whatever's desired.

I just came to say the same thing: I checked pChat when I logged in and it was set to make chat fade after 3 seconds. I changed it to 7 seconds for now, but I might keep checking it.
