Prioritize healing companions over randoms?

Is there a way to prioritize healing my companion, who is say, tanking a world boss and has it taunted.. over healing random people I'm not grouped with with untargeted heals like the twilight matriarch skill? gets annoying spamming to heal my companion and it's apparently healing everyone BUT who I intend to heal, but I'm not going a dedicated healer build just to target heals on a tank companion, it's kind of meant as an emergency heal.

But is there some sort of option I can set to prioritize? Not like I mind healing people outside of my group but I'd prefer take care of my companion who's tanking first so she doesn't die.

You want to use abilities that target an area not single target smart heals. Restoration Staff Grand Healing and Blessed Protection, Necromancer Life Amid Death, Nightblade Refreshing Path, Templar Cleansing/Extended Ritual and Repentance, Warden Fungal Growth and Healing Seed, and Echoing Vigor.

You can also use companion abilities that exclusively target themselves or always includes them in the heals, preferably in the first slot. Bastian Drake's Blood, Mirri Twilight Mantle and Life Siphon, Ember Entomb and Shared Wards, Isobel Holy Ground, Mending Incantation, and Crimson Font.

I just said, I'm not looking to manually target heals, I use the twilight as primarily another pet to do damage, it just also happens to have a heal I can use in emergencies.
it just keeps targeting other people and letting my companion get killed by the world boss she's tanking.
switching to a resto staff is a non starter to begin with since I'm using a destruction staff 1 bar build most of the time.

sorc probably best option for a decent heal over time to help them out would be echoing vigor probably, since its non-class and non-weapon specific

the twilight probably works good when your running solo with your companion but smart heals always prioritize players over pets (and yes a companion is considered a pet in terms of the game)

if your in a large enough group that the twilight heal is constantly not hitting the companion, im surprised there is not an actual tanky person there or enough heals from other players, as the twilight already hits 2 targets + itself
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

I guess that's the thing that needs to change is an option for smart heals to target your companion if you're not grouped with the players around you.
People don't often form official groups for fissures and world bosses, but they do engage with other people around them.
but most the time it's just a bunch of dps/solo builds no tanks.

so when my tank companion dies the boss comes after me, a squishy light armor sorc who's now relegated to spamming shields and heals on myself and trying not to get 1 shot.

Hmm, you might try putting your tank in 5 medium and 2 heavy and have the companion slot Vanish. They heal to full and disappear a few seconds when heavily damaged. By the time the boss figures out where your tank went and starts hitting you, your tank is back, good as new and grabs aggro.

As far as your heals - with a one bar pet sorc, the best you can perhaps do if you NEED a companion friendly heal is probably as @Necrotech_Master said, slot Vigor. I don't think I could find room for it on a build like yours though.

When truly solo, your matriarch ought to fill that need. When there are randoms around you do lose your companion heal but you gain additional distractions so your tank is maybe not so critical?

I'm not disagreeing with your desire - options to set/adjust matriarch heal priorities would be quite welcome.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

I'm not looking for garbage workarounds.
I'm looking for freaking targeting priority options.

that said targeting priority is wack since blackwood as it is.
so often I try to attack an enemy I'm targeting and my attack ends up hitting some critter behind me instead.
glad I dropped a meteor on that 1 hp critter.

We can't change how the matriarch heals select their targets; Zos will still prioritize players over pets and companions. So you can either switch your Ultimate to Absorption Field or find a set bonus that can heal in an area. Otherwise you're screwed.
