Good set to pair with Pillar

Stam DK here. What's a good set to pair with Pillar of Nirn if I don't have access to Relequen or any trial sets as of right now? I'm also using Harpooners Wading Kilt as well as Zaan.

It's based off of this build:

Thanks

No trial sets at all? Not even a set like AY from Hel Ra?

Number one non-trial set would have to be Deadly Strike with a DK build like that. I suppose Kinras or Briarheart would work too. Tzvogins, Medusa (weapons & jewelry) work if you want to replace Trap with another skill (perhaps a heal?). Aegis Caller is a set that gives weapon damage and another bleed proc. Or run Leviathan for pure crit, but you might hit the cap if working in a group.

That is a very interesting build. I've never seen one where Relequen is not on the body so it is up full time, especially because Nirn does not need to be on both bars as the effect is 10 seconds long. You can easily run it as a back bar set.

i was using pillar + deadly for a long period of time on my stamplar because deadly also buffs stuff like jabs and jesus beam

switched to pillar/whorl of the depths once i got that set filled out a bit more

i think pillar and aegis caller would also be fun combo

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

It depends what playstyle you do. Presuming it is group content, i would say order wrath. Because it is craftable and fits everywhere, if you don't hit crit cap. You don't.

I agree with El_Borracho, but I'd also add Order's Wraith. It's craftable so you can make it whatever weight you might need though being Stam, you probably want all medium.

Getting into trials isn't that easy. It is advertised as end-game content. If you don't feel you are ready for the full-on end game then trials are out of reach.

That's a fair statement, as I felt that way before running my first trial. But once you realize it isn't the monumental task where you must hit 100K or die, with the ridicule of others, they're pretty fun. A normal Cloudrest run is pretty easy, as is a normal Hel Ra.

My mains are both healers. I've read the guides and looked at the videos for Cloudrest, but they are written for DPS. I can get an idea of what to expect, but I know the first time I actually try it will be not ideal. And as I understand it there will be only one other healer, so healing matters.

most trials tend to slot at least 2 healers , although it can be more flexible for normal, but the main reason for 2 healers is mainly target caps (most aoe healing is limited to 6 targets, eg half of the group), but in the case of cloudrest theres usually 1 kite healer and 1 group healer

It does, but mostly in the end with the final boss where the group is stacked on the tail. But you have to remember its a normal. Tell everyone its your first time and likely the tank or raid leader will tell you where to stand and what to do. Most people running normal are gear farming and are not too crazy if people in the group die. Avoid a +2 or above as well as they are a little spicier.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time someone raged in an nCR pug run, or was even mildly rude. Plus, since so many people already have gear out of there, you could likely get a full set of Relequen in one run
