Magic Version of Selene's Monster Set

Hey guys,

As all of you know the monster set in Selene's Web is Stamina based with a bear attacking via physical damage. But during the fight with Selene if you're at good distance she will shoot out a senche at the farthest player. I was wondering if in the future this monster set may be a possibility in the future. Selene's set is visually aesthetic for a stamina warden. But a magic version of the monster set would be great/cool. just food for thought.

Take care

The Archdruid Devyric set might be something for you to look into.

I’m not sure what you mean by “stamina based.” The damage of the bear proc explicitly scales off the higher of your spell or weapon damage, so the damage is the same regardless of which one of those is higher or whether you’re running max stam or max mag. The fact it’s physical is irrelevant to its magnitude, unless you have a particular bonus to physical damage (which is only possible on Sorcs, afaik). CP no longer forces a mutually exclusive choice between improving magical and martial damage; the passives for increasing damage done and chance to apply status effects with each type can all be taken simultaneously.

If you want a magic version to take advantage of Piercing Cold, keep in mind it lost its 5%/10% bonus to magic damage last week in favor of a generic damage increase.

Now the one piece being stam does somewhat hinder a build trying to invest solely in mag, but that’s an entirely different matter and doesn’t impact the bear proc. Nothing about the proc is “based” on stam.

Visuals and aesthetics are again a separate question, and there I think there’s always room for variety. In ZOS’ class design, a bear can be either mag or physical in terms of damage (there are two different morphs of the bear ult), so to them bear doesn’t mean stam only. That said, more choice would be a great thing; I’m just confused about the stam-based argument.
