Stop Pushing Broken Updates to Live!

I would have thought this goes without saying, ZOS, but if the update you're about to push to live contains game breaking bugs and disables addons and features that it was intended to implement...DON'T PUBLISH IT!

It is incredibly frustrating that half of the updates we've gotten this year have been absolute disasters. What is going on at ZOS HQ? Did the Dev team walk out? It's not just that you post broken patches, you post broken patches where the exact features you're trying to add to the game don't work (i.e. hiding pets causing crashes). I do not understand how a multi-million dollar company struggles with this. In the Firesong PTS patch the DK bug was known about, the encounter-log bug was known about, the block bug was known about, and yet the patch went live.

DELAY YOUR UPDATES IF THEY'RE BROKEN! I promise there will be less pissed off players who will feel more like y'all give a damn about this game if you say "hey, we have to delay the release of U36 because of some bugs we're fixing" rather than force it through, take the server down for maintenance multiple times after the initial patch, and ultimately hit us with a "well we're working on fixing all these bugs that have made aspects of the game borderline unplayable. You'll hear from us...maybe...maybe not." I don't think I need to point out how disrespectful that is to the player base.

It's also no secret that most of these bugs are PvE related (no logging, DK bug [since fixed], block bug,). We get it, it has been painfully obvious for the last year or more that you do not care AT ALL about the end game PvE community, but WE do care about this game. It would be nice to feel some semblance of appreciation for that.

Please just...stop forcing updates that are broken and full of bugs. Take the required amount of time to get them right (or mostly right, its game dev, of course it won't be perfect), rather than whatever these half baked attempts have been that leave the player base confused and frustrated.

It is unacceptable for a company of your size working on a game of this size to have such poor quality control and standards.

Many players are having no issues at all, judging by how many players I see in game. And ZOS fixed the major gamebreaking bugs right away, with the second and third maintenance. The block bug is annoying, but not gamebreaking. And yes, the hiding pets in town, a new feature, isn't working correctly. But it is new, so that is kind of expected! Turn it off for now, and you'll be fine. Bugs are unexpected, and can happen with even the smallest updates.

Add-ons(and programs like process hacker) are third party programs, you can't seriously expect ZOS to take those into account. Those third party programs are a layer on top of the game, for which ZOS isn't responsible. The game and servers are running great at the moment, if third party software changes that, that is on the user who uses those. There is always a risk in using those.

Things aren't as bad as they seem, except for those players who are having crash issues. Which I hope ZOS solves soon. Yet I do sort of agree with you, if there are such major issues it is better for ZOS to release the update a few days or a week later. But as this is an MMO I get why ZOS does it this way, and I am glad ZOS fixes everything this fast.

Its NOT the Addons. I made a clean new install and it still crashes to desktop without an errormessage.

Best I can come up with is: The more people are around you the more likely it is the game crashes.
Speculative: The more people with pets and costumes are around the faster the game crashes.

Thats not saying the game doesnt crash even in housingareas. It does. But less frequently.

I am pretty sure most players on PC EU, Xbox NA, Xbox EU, Playstation NA and Playstation EU would not agree with this. Even PC NA players are reporting that things are getting worse again. But i am glad everything works great for you. People have different expectations. I know someone who played egoshooters with almost a second input delay/controller lag because of their tv settings. He always got killed first, had trouble hitting anything and could not even run in a straight line, but he was happy and did not know better. Until someone else tried to play on his setup at a birthday party and noticed that there was something wrong. Yes, some players can live with the state of the game, but when you need good performance for PvP fights or PVE hardmodes, it is not easy to ignore all the problems.

That is an extreme amount of copium. I play many different games and no other game experiences game breaking bugs this often with new updates. Yes, small bugs are always going to crop up, but not bugs that ruin the experience for a group of players, that were KNOWN about before the update went live.

Also, I can tell you're not much of a PvE'er because the block bug is absolutely damning to end game PvE. I've already watched a long term Planesbreaker group who got 36/36 with 2% left on Xalv the week prior suspend their core until its fixed. It's a problem. The encounter log bug is a huge issue for end game PvE too as logs are used and referenced for every aspect of play.

Like I said in my post, most of ZOS' critical bugs hit the PvE community hardest, and its been proven that they don't care much about this group. It doesn't help that most non PvE players don't care either, and instead spend their time buried in stockholm syndrome believing that it's ok for ZOS to drop the ball this badly this often and saying "well the bugs don't affect me so they must not be as bad as you're saying!"

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Something changed this year. There were serious problems with 3 of the 4 new content released and the one that didn't have awful issues was the one that indroduced the controvertial U35. Of course some problems are inevitably going to make it live, but isn't the PTS meant to detect major issues before the content's official release? While I wouldn't go so far as to accuse the devs of not caring about PvErs, I do agree delaying a release to fix defects is preferrable to going ahead with a mess. Players can get tired of so many repeated problems and, presuming more are to follow, they might just play less or not at all. That should be taken into consideration.
