Any hope for VAIO laptop with AMD graphics?

First of all - game is working fine on my desktop machine. Enjoying it, thanks much for making ESO happen.
Problem is with laptop computer- a Sony VAIO with AMD graphics. I am including a dxdiag with all relevant details. (Note: I had to manually download/install the current AMD drivers to replace the Sony drivers, as Sony does not provide an updated driver set for this model to replace its 2011-era drivers. AMD notes that their drivers are not fully compatible with Sony VAIO laptops with AMD Raedon graphics, but if you download the full installer package you can get them installed, and so far everything else is still running OK.)
Symptom of my problem is this (both before and after driver update):
Launcher works fine. Play button launches the game fine. Logo screens present fine. Login screen works fine. Cinematic opening works fine (or did the first time, now is skipped). At that point, where character creation/selection in the 3D engine should launch, I just get the 2D background art, and the little Ororborous spinning logo just spins endlessly. Character creation/selection does not launch.
I did see in one of the "known issues" posts that integrated video may not be workable for ESO at this time: "#1 Integrated Graphics Cards
If you have an integrated graphics card, it is unlikely that you will be able to run ESO at the moment" - not sure if my config is 'integrated' but I think it may be.
Any hope for getting this to work?
