When collecting my hireling mails today, I realized how much time this takes and how inconvenient this is. So my suggestion is to replace this hireling mail system with a leftover system. (May even help with server load)
My idea: The leftover system allows players to claim the materials, that would normally come from hireling mails, now directly from the crafting stations themselves. Basically collecting leftover materials used from other crafters. Make a new category in the crafting stations menu, where we can claim these leftover materials. And create an on/off option which does: "Automatically claim leftovers when interacting with any crafting station." Each crafting station ofcourse only has their own material type as leftovers, similar to how the hireling mails are craftspecific a well. So players would have to visit every crafting station type on every character on which they want to collect the leftovers, versus how we now have to open and collect from multiple hireling mails on every character. This is basically the only downside(which I see only as a small downside), but practically everyone always interacts with all the crafting stations anyways. So I think a leftover system would be more convenient for almost all players, especially for those players who always do the crafting dailies.
Ofcourse this also means the hireling passive skills need to be changed. These skills could do basically the same as now, grant more materials and more often when at a higher skilllevel.
What do you guys think? ... ZOS could even make this optional for players who would like this more than the hireling mails.
PS: Would also like to see receiving the hireling mails(leftovers) changed to collecting once per day, instead of twice. Because the 12h system, is a weird system which is hardly of any use. So replacing it with collecting all the materials once every 20-22 hours, would be more convenient. Similar to how the random dungeon timer works.
(Edit: Leftovers could reset at the same time the crafting dailies do. If the player has already taken the leftovers, new materials will spawn. If the player hasn't taken the leftovers the old one will be replaced by new materials.)
