Consider allowing us to disable main quests on alts

Today, like many, I've been unable to play seamlessly due to the insane amount of crashes like never seen before. On most of my characters I can't even walk two steps without crashing. But then I noticed that with my main character it's way better and sometimes I can even play for 30 minutes without crashing. So, I've been trying to find out why it crashes so much more on my alts and I found out that it always crashes when I'm approaching places or NPCs where I can pick main quests.
On all my alts I have no intention of playing any of the main stories. It would be nice if we could disable the main quest pickers and that would solve a lot of problems in future bad updates like this hateful last one.
