The Elder Scrolls Loot Crate - DO NOT BUY

From the desk of SavageTSC at Tamriel Savings Co (home of the Xbox NA Price Fetcher):

Many moons ago Loot Crate announced they would begin offering an exclusive Elder Scrolls crate. I signed up for my first 4 crate subscription back in 2019 and it was fantastic! I definitely felt like I was getting my money's worth. Unfortunately, my financial situation changed and I wasn't able to renew for another year. During the global reveal Twitch stream at the beginning of this year, @ZOS_GinaBruno plugged the Naryu Virian Loot Crate along with a discount code. I decided to sign up for another year of boxes and I'm here to tell you why I regret it.

When I received February's Naryu Virian box (ON JULY 26TH!), it came with the wrong size shirt. I submitted a ticket to Loot Crate and they pretty much told me "sucks to be you." I pushed back pretty hard though and they ultimately agreed to send me a replacement shirt from their vault. It's been more than 2 months and I'm still waiting for it. I received May's Sheogorath box on October 21 (notice a trend here?) and am beyond disappointed. If you recently got yours too, not only is it 5 months late, but I'm willing to bet you didn't get a T-shirt. Did you submit a ticket and were told this box didn't come with one? Did you ask for a refund due to the severely delayed shipping but weren't given one? What kind of shotty customer service is that? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Loot Crate is blatantly lying to customers and here's proof the Sheogorath crate was supposed to include a t-shirt:

That image is pulled directly from Loot Crate's servers.

Not only are people complaining about the ESO crate, but multiple crates offered by the company are falling short of what was promised. People are reporting them to the BBB and there is discussion of filing class action law suits against Loot Crate. Head on over to Reddit and have a looksee for yourself: https://www.reddit.com/r/lootcratespoilers/
The lack of service provided by this company is deplorable and I wish Bethesda could step in and makes this right. Regardless, if you're thinking about signing up for this seemingly awesome offer, DON'T DO IT!

P.S. I really wish I could change my name on the forums to match my GT (insert pouty face here)

Wow, that is a bad experience. Glad I do not get into loot crates.

I think it is a good idea to bring this to the attention of Zenimax, as you ahve tagged Gina, but @ZOS_Bill may be good to include with a tag. While Zenimax does not own Lootcrate, they likely expect Lootcrate to provide proper service in the name of ESO and Zenimax. They seem to be falling short of that.

You never get what you want from a loot crate, this is as true in-game as it is real life.

I've basically always heard bad things about them, I've also heard horror stories about getting refunds from them where people had to get their banks to cancel charges.

There's been all sorts of those things, for years now. Originally just things like a "_____ of the month club" thing, with boxes of (for ex) a bunch of assorted weird Japanese candy. Or assorted geek merch from <insert fandom here>. Lots of non-videogame things. But, of course, it spreads into whichever genres/fandoms that they think there's a market for.

(thinking about it, the good old-fashioned "grab bag" was probably the original loot crate. :D Heck, I bought "five pounds of assorted Games Workshop miniatures parts" from some game distributor back in the 90's. Heh.)

    Greetings all,

After review, we have decided to close this thread for discussing legal matters, Bashing, and Baiting. Bashing and Baiting are violations of the Community Rules, and are stated as follows:
    • Bashing and Slanderous Comments: We do not permit the bashing of individuals (including ZeniMax employees), groups, or other companies on our forums. We believe that doing so is neither constructive nor in spirit of our game and community.
    • Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please take a few moments to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    -Greg-
