Style or motif pages that say "add to collection" when you already have it

Lately there has been a huge problem with style pages showing in green text that you can learn them, only to consume the page and you already owned the style. I've burned several motif pages only to find that I already owned it. You should not be able to do this, they are tradable to friends or you can even sell them. They have value, please fix this.

Are you talking about styles or motifs? You use both terms here as if they were interchangeable, but those are not the same. A style page is account wide; a motif page is character specific, since it grants crafting knowledge to that character as well as the style to your account.

Outfit style pages are account wide. If you are able to learn those, you didn’t know it before. If you know you have that style (and it’s a style page, not a motif page), but you can still consume it, that’s a bug. I’m surprised no one else has reported it in that case.

Motifs are character-specific, so you can learn them on each individual character. The game does not check if you know the style from learning the motif on another character, since the crafting knowledge is tracked separately. It will tell you you can learn it on a character who doesn’t know it yet, and then let you eat it even if you would rather sell it instead.

If you want to sell motif pages you know on another character, it is up to you to check if you know that motif on at least one character. You can do so by seeing if you have the related style in the outfit collections page.

    Motifs.

This should be a bug since those styles are shared. Why would anyone want to learn a character-wide style from multiple characters?

More Motifs known on a given character == greater chance for Master Writs when they complete a Crafting Writ.
