Start playing ESO from scratch. How is it?

Perhaps in the foreseeable future, I will change the region. After 8 years of playing ESO, I will then have to start all over again. What worries me the most is my almost collection of sets. I'm a high-end player, I'm used to using only perfect sets, which I can't get without a raid. In addition, I have an almost complete collection of motives. In addition, I will no longer have so much free time to quickly farm everything and restore the previous level of the game. Farm the grand overlord again. Well... No, this is not a transfer thread. I just want to ask if anyone has ever started over again, leaving a lot of progress after a few years?

I probably have more cross platform experience than most.

I was a PS4 launch player. My console died and I had to leave millions in gold, gear, and mats and all 1100± of my CP. I switched to Stadia (1100+ CP) because of convenience and the price point. I never found a community to get into and many interactions weren't the best. My sons and I lucked into a Series X this past winter. I've played some but not with the same veracity or intention as I did in the past.

Starting over is daunting. Proving yourself to guildies can be frustrating. But it's a chance to redo some things and try new builds.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Just out of curiosity why are you thinking of changing region?

If you're relocating in real life it may not be necessary to change because ZOS will allow you to play in either region regardless of where in the world you are and depending on your location there may not be much of a difference in connection speed.

Whatever the reason I recommend trying out playing in the new region before you commit to it and especially before you start buying stuff again.

@Danikat Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question. It would be against forum community rules.
But if I move, I still have to play in a different region, since the ping will be more bad for a comfortable game.
Just all the progress in 8 years, angler, overlord... Everything will be lost. And without the ability to play with good ping, it will be pointless.
That's why I would like to hear about the experiences of people who started playing with a lot of progress in the past, from scratch. For one reason or another

My friend plays from SEA and they have absolutely no issue playing on NA server for instance, minor lags but nothing too major and they can still handle all veteran dungeon content, etc. I don't think you need to switch region.

And what is his ping? where I am now, ping in another region is 250+. I find this unacceptable. I'm used to playing with 116-160 ping.

I swapped from ps4 to PC NA. I was about cp1400 and had cleared nearly all vet Content. Starting over was fine. You know how to play and what to work on and how to get what u need for end game efficiently. You get to find out that CP doesn’t make as much difference some people think, and ZOS have nerfed it more in the last 2 years since I swapped. I cleared vAShm at CP350 (front kite didn’t die). Some groups will care more about CP but if you can post the parses and show you know mechs so u don’t die many appreciate that.
Join a friendly guild who can help give you pieces to learn the traits for crafting and get a good set of training gear. I had a purple or better set of training gear in all my characters that I wore for everything except trials.

I'd LOVE to have 250 ping, my normal ping is 400.

I've done a fresh start. It can be fun seeing this from a new perspective, where things like earning a CP or skill point seem relevant again.

If you are a DPS the set farm isn't bad. You can generally just get something like Nirn + Perf Whorl and be fine in all content. If you know trial mechs it should be easy enough to find a group to farm. Maelstrom weapons and monster helms are easy to obtain with curated loot, the only painful thing was leveling Scrying and finding mythic leads. I'm sure 95% of the items you've farmed over the years are useless bank clutter anyway.

Healers/tanks have it worse, since they need to have more sets available.

Low CP hardly matters these days, they din't do much. Experience gain is easier than ever with constant events and scrolls being given out.

Collecting all the motifs for master writs would be terrible, but it's easy to just buy a few pages to make an outfit you like.

Well I have eso+ accts on PC EU and PCNA ay @ 50/1100 each crafts, boxes, houses etc and a vanilla alt acct because a friend of mine constantly runs blue in GH Where I am mainly red, so Alt for him ;-D

I started it in the summer and it was ... interesting. I do have to say I've learned a few things and its very much easier this time around. Concentrate on one or two toons to get to 50/160 then the party is underway.

Just as a side note, in PVE, I can hit better ping on PCEU and i'm on USeast coast, so don't be too sure about the ping. Just saying.

Outside of cyro I sit around 110ms which is generally better than what I get on NA, oddly. We will not discuss Cyrodil.

Those are pretty good numbers. Oh... I also hope that we will be able to purchase event items like the new hourglass.
