Motif Collection for Master Crafting

What is a good number of completed motif needed to really focus on master crafting? I have around 45 completed Motif and close to completing 4 more full sets. Is that enough completed motif to really start working on my writs or should I go for 60+?

Start crafting now for sure. If a writ wants a specific motif you don't have, just find / buy that one and continue to expand your collection that way.

100% agree. Also, grand master crafter is 50, so you are close to that!

Grand Master Crafter (technically the True Style Master achievement here) now counts all known motifs on all characters on the account, including each style counted separately per character. An account with six characters each knowing their own native racial style plus all the blue books would unlock True Style Master.

Echo this. Plus, events like these that give out a motif are great for farming and for buying them on the cheap from guild vendors. Wait until the event ends, maybe a week or two, and prices typically plummet for the motifs they were giving away. This is especially true during the Witches' Festival and New Life

On a related topic: before AWA, you could determine how many complete motifs you knew by looking at progress on the True Style Master achievement - until you got it. Now we all have, is there another easy way to count?

You can always use your lore library. It's a little less clear but still something at least.

Fashion op! (I only need the dang ancestral daedric motif in its entirety and then about 10 of the ancestral breton, as well as the soul driven one and I'll have it all XD)

The Achievement is 50 fully learned motif so I'd say that. It doesn't matter much anymore since most BiS items are found i trials or dungeons.

ZoS needs to make a way that you can have another person change the appearance of those items as well so Master Crafters with all the motifs or most of them can actually use it for something again.

Not sure this is easier, but you can check it out if game, the eso db add on: https://www.eso-database.com
