Reward for High Island Tour Intro Quest?

What is the reward for the High Island Tour intro quest? Is it worth slogging through at all?

On Thursday it also completed an endeavor. It's slightly amusing the first time through but I would not repeat it.

usually I do these on my 5 toons, this time however, once was more than enough, wasn't fun for me at all- too much running around for a purple box

That is what I thought everyone. I don't want a forced "explore and run around the island" for a single purple box, even once.

I think all the running around is probably meant to take you near the scenic locations you must discover for the Pathfinder achievement, plus other important locations such as wayshrines and the sites where the three types of dailies and the zone quests are performed, plus give you plenty of opportunities for finding purple coffers from harvesting and looting. So you could say it's killing four birds with one stone: (1) the event intro, (2) getting to 100% for the contest, (3) adding locations to your map, and (4) grinding for purple coffers. If you approach it from that perspective, it isn't so bad, especially for players who haven't already filled in their maps of the zone.

I'll also add that there are some nice little events that play out at some of the locations. It's a good way of making the exploration a bit more rewarding, not just for the box at the end but for the sights at each point.

If you haven't explored much of High Isle yet then it's a great way to start, and if you have explored a bunch of High Isle then waypoint warping will make the quest much faster to complete.

I wouldn't repeat it either. Unless the locations change, it wouldn't even make sense.
But yes, there are some amusing scenes at some of the locations.
Also, I found two new leads close to the areas he sent me, just lying on the ground.

I quite enjoyed the quest, and certainly didn't find it a forced slog around the island. Its a bit of fun and helps with the path finder thingy.

The quest really helped me for a first timer in High Isle. Don't know if I'd really do it again.

I wonder if you do it on more than one toon if it counts towards the 100%?

No, once per account, as AWA is now in effect.

Yep, forgot to say that. I've done mine on 3 accounts both PC megaservers now.
