Can you please think about adding 2 things to make the game more playable. 1 - a mini map would be very nice so you don't' have to keep tabbing out to the whole page map to see where your going. and 2 - a complete list of quests available in an area showing completed and uncompleted quests so you don't miss any of them! Thanks!!

I agree, that would be really helpful. Without a mini map I am totally lost. I have no sense of direction ._.

if u want a minimap u will need to get an addon for that, for the quest list u can look under achievements to see how many quests you have done in the current area

Absolutely mustn't have a minimap, there is addons for that. We must never have a quest list as that's what exploration is for. If you look on line I'm sure you will find a list for your convenience and speed levelling needs.

Just Google for ESOUI and you will find the add on site. There's loads on there. I'm sure soon ones will crop up that tell you all skyshard locs and quests. You are really missing out though if you don't explore and if you do, you will find all the quests.

Ahh...so addons are like user-made mods?

I want a normal mini map. Without spoilers. A mini version of the big map. It's just annoying to stop and take a look at the big map every 5 seconds because I can't remember the way I need to go (like I said...I have no sense of direction and I ALWAYS need to look at the map for help). I don't care about the quests. I think they are good as they are now. But a tiny little map would be nice.

@Moi_523 a questlist is part of the exploration process same for searching shards. I recommend you wander a bit around there are plenty.

Hey there, everyone. We wanted to let you know that we've moved this thread to the Main Quest section, so that we can keep the Customer Support section focused on technical issues.

We hope you're enjoying your time in-game!

Just explore the map and look out for the black quest markers on the compass. These let you know there are NPCs nearby that may have a quest for you, so head towards them (the same symbol is white, for quests you already have).

The nice thing about not having a mini-map, aside from the minimal clutter, is that you learn to navigate using landmarks in the world. In effect, once you get to know your environment, you will actually use the map less than you find yourself doing in other games. Even if it doesn't feel like it right now

Give it a few days and hopefully you will not only adjust but will come to appreciate the lack of a mini-map.

I actually like that we dont have a mini-map and full quest list. I'm totally against that idea. But i guess the devs eventually will add mini-map as i foresee a lot more complaints about this.

I like that there's no minimap in the default UI. You can get it through addons if you need but it really doesn't feel necessary to me. I actually planned on getting a few addons from the start but after trying them I just switched them off. Less is more!

I wish we could choose if we want to display a mini map or not  I don't want to spoil someones enjoyment of exploring the world without a map. But I still would like to use a mini map(without addons...).

You really don't know me*haha* You have too much faith in my navigation skills...they are almost non-existent :| Do you know the game Kingdom Hearts? I still haven't finished the first game just because I can't find my way through the castle(Hollow Bastion). I got that game over ten years ago. Fail! But I still don't give up! Someday I will find the way through the castle!(I want to find the way all by myself...impossible) :pensive:

What? A mini-map? But why? That just breaks everything that Elder Scrolls is about... exploration. o_0 Blasphemy I SAY!

I tried a minimap addon, all I got was a bunch of error messages so that's not really a valid response IMO. I'd love to see one as an option in the game supported by the developers.

The mini map shouldn't show us more than the normal map! So why would that be a problem? We still can explore like now.

The current minimap add-on that is out there, is quite simply a smaller map, showing nothing you wouldn't normally see. However I do believe it might be bugged currently, I'm sure it will be fixed, as the demand is high.

ZOS is committed to the minimalistic UI, for better or worse, they don't seem like they're going to budge, I personally commend them for sticking with their vision.

In this manner they can also focus on giving us new content more often, instead of trying to keep their minimap updated and working with each patch. They're planning to continue working on the UI, but some things I think just aren't going to happen, as it doesn't fit their vision for the game.

While running/riding, you can just hit M or ALT quick-like and get a brief overview... it's not like you have to stop running. I do that all the time while riding to a specific destination, if I see a fork in the road coming up, I'll hit ALT real quick and get my bearings and close the map... If you keep W pressed down you'll continue to move forward.

And besides, perhaps no minimap will help you shore up your directional skills ;) It like it, it gives it more realism and makes you look at the world they've created for us... I don't want to end up like BL2 where I just look at the minimap the whole time.

I know. I use the map like that too. But it's annoying to have such a huge map pop up every few seconds(I use the map A LOT!) xD

You're right. I look at the maps far too often. But I don't ignore the world around me(or else I would miss all the beautiful ingredients I need for crafting*haha*)

And again, you're absolutely right. I love the fact, that the screen isn't cluttered. But it would still be nice to have a mini map(it should be optional! We should be able to disable the mini map if we don't need them or want them)

Both of those things are not found in Elder Scrolls games. Its about exploring, not about being lead around like in WoW. Please devs do not turn elder scrolls into another hold your hand mmo.

Compass is already making navigation very easy. And you can use add-on for a minimap, so I hope developers won't change that aspect.

i would like a minimap also, or one that fades while open if i move in the very least. but so many people want this that there will probably be a million addons for it. simple. go get one.

when i first played i wanted a full quest tracker to show of all the quests i was on instead of only showing ONE at a time. after all the betas i have gotten used to only being able to look in the corner and see one at a time though, it isn't so bad once you get used to it....which takes a lot of time. i open my map a ton and just double click whichever quest on there i am closest to at the time and track it. which brings up again that i need a mini map so i can do this faster. just double click nearby marks on a minimap as i run....that would be perfect!

my ADHD makes questing tough at times without a list on my screen to keep me focused, but i suppose i will live.

I'm indifferent on this. Would use on occasion but wouldn't go nuts without. Many of us played WoW first. That's a fact everyone will just have to accept. We got used to certain things. That's just the nature of things.

Early beta tests had a minimap, but they found that people were missing out on a lot of the content and there were complaints about it, so they decided to take it out and put in a compass which had the added benefit of making the UI more Elder Scrolls-y. I can't see them going back on that, so it's probably worth just using an addon
