Pros and Cons of Templar vs Nightblade

After a few years of tanking as a DK I have gotten tired of it and want to try out a different class. This is primarily for tanking hard content, doing overland(including soloing world bosses) and then pvp. My overland playstyle is a warrior who uses double melee weapon bars not bows or staffs. And this is about the stamina versions. I wish to know the pros and cons of each or your own experiences when using both these classes as tanks or overland soloers. Thanks in advance!

I still find Templar the easiest class to play. For soloing dungeons/ world bosses they're fantastic. As real tanks? Idk, never tried it.

Can't really help you with nb, I play a stam one but it's essentially the opposite of the kind of build you describe. A sniper who's always in stealth. Have you thought about switching it up and making a sneak thief? They're very handy.

I try to go rogue but my Unga Bunga brain brings me back to smacking things. I did play a stamblade Nord till level 35 and he did feel like a raging warrior with his double two band bars. He was hard to kill and melted single target.

I played through VMoS as a templar tank last night and it was pretty fun. He is a high elf so less resistances or health but he still has 40k health and 30,900 resists. The healing he gets is pretty nuts too. Not alot of group utility but the healing makes up for that.

Templar is easier to play, but has been nerfed.

I have just built a NB like you describe and while it seems to hit very hard, I feel to get the most out of it you need to learn a good rotation, and the rotation is definitely more complicated than the Templar. It's going to take a fair bit of practice for me.

    Nightblade Tanks are good.

    1. Stamina and Magicka recovery from slotting an ult you don't need to use (you'll use the one on the backbar, horn or whatever).
    2. Refreshing Path provides healing over time, major expedition to move quicker when necessary plus it's your major resolve so you don't need to slot or use another skill to provide it.
    3. Dark Cloak provides 8k/second healing when standing still (though people with a lowly 35k health who don't like the fact most heals are max health based for tanks these days it'll only do 5-6k)
    4. Everyone can use Frost Clench to apply Major Maim, but as a NB tank you can add Minor Maim, Major and Minor Cowadice to the foe and really reduce their damage output (useful if it's hitting other targets).

Templar are easier to use than Nightblades as DPS, but at the same token you can be more powerful with a bow as a Stamblade than Stamplar, so that's worth considering.

Well Apples are firm and come in many varieties, oranges have a leathery exterior but are much more juicy in the inside. They both grow on trees.

Hopefully this helps answer your question.
