What is the main purpose of TG and DB guilds outside of themselves?

I have plans to complete both but wondering what I can use them for outside of their own quests. Are they just there as a cool concept or what?

Thieves Guild can make you lots of money, both have cool looking gear, polymorphs, and some good stories. DB has a good passive that makes it harder for random monsters to attack you in overland. TG makes it easier to sneak, and both make it easier to get away with crimes.

Once you get the Blade of Woe, you can use it when sneaking around in quests

Thieve's guild - thieve's troves, heists which can give you heavy and light syvarra's scales which sell for a lot as well as thieve's guild motifs. Near the end of the quest line you get Grand Amnesty Edict which pardons I believe 100k worth of bounty. You also get Pirhani the Smuggler, who you can summon on any character on your account and buys stolen goods at a 35% discount

Dark Brotherhood - Daily item from the bequeather (level 4), which is needed for some mythics and is a passive source for pardon edicts. Not much else comes to mind.

both advance your character, offering titles, costumes, and extra skill points.

Dark Brotherhood gives you access to the Shadow Rider passive which prevents some enemies from getting aggroed when you ride by them. This means you can stay out of combat a bit more if not every hostile being in your vicinity wants to kill you.

There is at least one lead in Sacraments and another from the supplier NPC Remains-Silent. Remains-Silent also can supplement you with minor quantity of alchemy mats each day. I know there are a lead or two in Thieve's Guild troves and probably ones from Heists as well.

The absolute best passive from Brotherhood in my opinion is Shadowy Rider since it lets you travel quickly across overland without attracting too much aggro. Padomaic Sprint is utterly pointless and I don't even put a point into that passive. The other passives are good if you plan to be killing or stealing a lot.

Best thing about Thieve's Guild are the thieves troves. Think of them as extra treasure chest spawns with the caveat that everything in them is marked as stolen, so you can lose it if you have bounty and a guard catches you. There is some gold to be made by thieving but in my personal experience there are better ways to make money.

To get the most money out of it, you'd also need to upgrade your legerdermain so you can sell more stuff, and be better at pocketpicking. You will also need to put cp points into the relevant green branch.

You can use 3x pieces of Night Terror gear to reduce your sneak detection, it's easy to get - just doing dolmens in Stormhaven can get you the Jewellery set.
