More and more dungeons are broken

This undaunted event has been like ice-skating uphill, with the console ui error plaguing every session. It has been difficult to find consistent groups willing to put up with it for long, on top of fewer people in my guilds logged on to do any group content since the patch dropped. A lot of guild mates are just doing the bare minimum dailies, waiting for combat to settle, or a plan.

Something I have noticed whilst trying to run through a lot of the same dungeons is that many issues are preventing them from being completed. The problems are difficult to replicate, as one run it will be fine, the next it will not, with no seeming difference in our actions. Many doors simply aren't opening, across numerous dungeons. Fang Lair, Moongrave Fane, Banished Cells, Bloodroot, the list goes on. The group is not in combat, all adds are dead and doors simply will not open. Barring all progress. I just have to leave group and try again once the timer is done.

Additionally some bosses are simply not appearing, preventing any progress at all. We have sadly become used to many bosses despawning, like in Arx Corinium or Falkreath. We just play it as it lies. But this is a new and different issue. Bosses simply will not appear, in Blessed Crucible, Fang Lair, Fungal Grotto 2, several bosses are in strike. Especially frustrating to reach the end boss of a long dungeon and they don't appear.

I haven't encountered these consistent issues running dungeons before u35, and I run a lot of dungeons. That this is occurring so much during the annual dungeon event has torpedoed my efforts to engage with it.

This game is becoming more frustrating than fun, and unless u36 presents something solid to look forward to I gotta take a break and find something that works.

    Was doing a no-death run of spindleclutch when we got stuck in a "joining event in progress" loop after defeating the 3 Flesh Atronach bosses, so every time we'd move forward it would teleport us back. Eventually we just gave up on the dungeon.

    Lady Thorn stopped responding halfway through a fight. At 0% , she became a parsing dummy and we couldn't complete the dungeon.

    Same....Dread Celler door after those lil sparky things was "Impossible to open"....we swept back all the way to the beginning and saw nothing we missed...just had to leave.

    Door bug and boss disappearing bug exist from 1 years ago. There're no relationship with event.
    And, most of major dungeon bug are never fixed. A lot of people report those bug at the bug section,
    but it's never fixed.

    I wonder if a lot of this has to do with the health reductions and not changing all the triggers that depend on the health. I’ve heard this all start popping up after that patch, except for the FL and FH bosses deciding to disappear right as the fight starts.

    Only way to continue was to wipe and restart the fight.

    Wayrest 2 bug has been there since at least March this year.

    Elden Hollow - one boss was invisible and only light attack worked on him - light attracking invisible boss was not very fun :D

    I don't know if something recently broke encounters in dungeons across the board, but I have seen a lot more bugs in dungeons than before, like OP mentioned the disappearing bosses, doors not opening, and so on. It seemed a lot more pronounced than in the past. The finder was also acting up a lot during the event, and when getting the prompt to join a dungeon, I wouldn't get ported in, the rest of the group appeared offline, I couldn't port in manually, or whisper anyone, and in the case of one of my characters, they are still stuck in a group with offline members even after logging out.

    I've had a few doors not open, usually after killing a boss before moving onto the next area.

    Leaving it for a while and just running round the empty zone for a bit usually did the trick...

    My theory is that the mobs that are triggering the door to open up are being killed by secondary effects (ie plaguebreak/occult overload), and somehow not being credited as dead when it comes to quest completion. We ran the dread cellar many times, and the door right behind the three hungers after the first boss was consistently "impossible" to open. For science, we slowed DPS on those hungers, and killed the last one with only bashes. Door opened consistently.

    Turn off occult overload, don't use plaguebreak, and make sure the last mob gets killed with an intentionally triggered player skill. Might be a workaround! Needs more testing.

    I did not have the issues anymore when I (finally after trying many things) stopped using occult overload.

    That was after quite a number of failed dungeons.

    A lot of these problems have been around for a long time, before the Undaunted Event, before U35, before this year, etc... I think it's just that people have been running more dungeons during this event so the problems become more apparent.

    Whenever I play the game I'll usually run multiple dungeons on multiple characters and I encounter bugs with the dungeon finder and a lot of the dungeons on a daily basis. The problems don't always occur and I have no idea what triggers them. But I can honestly say that I have seen most of these problems for at least a year or more.

    Just check the Bug Reports forum. I'm sure you'll find threads discussing several of these bugs. And most of them never even get acknowledged.

    It's funny whenever I see a streamer encounter a bug and they're all like "chat, did you see that?", "clip it and send the report!", etc... I'm just like, "first time?"

    Selene's web still has bugs that make the dungeon not be able to be completed for years. If you damage Selene as a spider to fast and a sorc pet or companion attacks her, she'll never finish her animation that breaks the web and brings everyone to the ground and won't enter stage 2 of her fight.

    I think ensuring mobs are killed by player-specific damage is the hot tip. Good idea, will test out the no occult overload or pb. Kinda wild if it is. Just another element of the game to persevere through.

    Developers got lot of good information of dungeon issue through this event.
    ....But maybe, most of them will be ignored. And never fixed again.
    It's a usual ESO standard. :D

    Interesting. I've had a terrible time trying to complete dungeons with glitched doors and am indeed running Pb and occult.

    Very solid theory.

    I like my solo build too much to change, it made dungeons not entirely miserable. I'll just go back to pvp.

    Who'd have thought Lagodiil would ever feel like the less broken option :).

    Wanted to jump in on this to say that I have also been experiencing these things on PC NA, and it has made me completely miss out on this undaunted event.

    I use an xbox controller on PC. Every single time I queue into a dungeon with the activity finder, I have to close and restart my game. I couldn't stand doing pledges after the first day of this event because this was so ridiculously frustrating to deal with.

    The broken dungeons are everywhere. Last patch we experienced multiple DLC dungeons where the doors would just stop working. We were farming coral aerie one night and had to disband the group 6 times in two hours, more than halfway through the dungeon each time as a random door would just stop working. We had the same exact issue in dread cellar one of the following days, where the door to go towards the 2nd boss would just not work. Happened 3 times in a row that evening.

    I don't know why these things are happening now, but zenimax REALLY needs to address them. This is severely harming the user experience.

    This gamepad error seems to be fixed in today's patch. At least it says it in the patch notes and I haven't encountered it in several dungeon runs this morning.

    Had a door to the final boss of Stone Garden fail to open. We weren't in combat and we spent a while roaming the dungeon in the hopes something might trigger that blasted thing to open. In the end we had to disband. A door in the Dread Cellar failed to open on the very day of the DLC's release. Curiously, I went there more times than I'd have liked to in order to farm a set and had no problems.

    With so many people reporting problems, I guess from now on I'll look at doors with dread.

    Had doors not opening and blocking progress in Mazzatun, Moongrave, Malatar, Red Petal and Frost Vault.

    Occult overload might be the key on this. I have this problem allot and i use Occult overload. Maybe thats why they are nerfing the CP slottable next DLC.

    For stuck in combat mode bug, just have the whole group crouch for a minute or so. There are too many mobs that keep track of you when you leave their combat zone and/or line of sight. The crocs in Wayrest 1 is a good example as well.

    I got an invisible shrike boss when loaded into that part of Castle Thorn, then the safe circle stopped moving so i guess that glitched out aswell. Rped as carpet after that 😆

    With the Pirate Skeleton style page now dropping in vet Blackheart Haven, I wonder how many people will notice all the bugged harpies stuck in the air and can't be pulled, stuck in rocks, etc. and the doors that refuse to open until about 20 seconds have passed. I've ran this dungeon about 15 times so far tonight and every single time we encounter the bugged harpies and doors refusing to open...
