Dear devs: Handling the moment surveys disappear from inventory needs to change
I’ve seen a lot of threads about surveys disappearing immediately when the user passes by the certain area.
Today I was completing a blacksmith survey and right before I mined the first node, my client crashed. I logged back on only to find that the survey had disappeared from my inventory as well as all of the surrounding Rich nodes. I never got a chance to harvest any of the nodes before both the survey and the nodes disappeared.
My question is why not just code it so that the survey disappears from inventory after the last node has been mined? It seems more computationally costly to have it disappear when the user enters a certain area because you’d have to check the user’s bounds in the area whereas my proposed fix would just have a counter for the nodes.
