Fairly new, playing as a magcro dps at 160cp. Have a few questions

What does the magcro excel at in particular? Nightblade is single target, DK is cc and DoT. I run a lot of dungeons and enjoy pvp. I don’t care at the moment to have a pure pvp build, but just great pve gear that’s also decent in pvp. I am looking at combining True-Sworn Fury set with Caluurion’s Legacy. As for the monster set, I’m looking at Kjalnar’s Nightmare and Slimecraw. Between those two monster sets, which should I get?

I’ve already watched many build videos and it’s all just so subjective so I figured asking about a set combo I personally ‘came up with’.

As far as abilities go with all the skill trees, I don’t even know what to pick. I’m running destruction staff on both bars. Should I go with mostly gravelord and destruction staff skills? Psijic order/mage guild skills worth it over necro skills?

    Oh Boi. 😳

Necromancer is the most difficult class to learn. Don't you want to try something easier first? The MagCro is best in group PvE as a DPS. It is arguably one of the worst in SOLO and PvP. 😬
Sustain is horrific on a slolo Magcro. However, if you go hybrid with your skills, you will be able to sustain much better.

The best way to play the class is to ignore build videos, they are entertainment for the most part. Well, infotainment really. There is no way around learning by doing.
Especially Necromancer, with all the corpse mechanics, can not be taught or shown in a video. It requires first hand experience.

As for the skills, I recommend you make setups for PvP and PvE separately.
Go with options by utility, not by skill tree. Pick skills for what they do, not what they look like.

If you are new and still "starting out" (it sounds like it), then "starter sets" are best for you. It doesn't mean they ar3 bad, inferior or anything. Just sets with a lot of good stat bonuses and easy access. Like Mother's Sorrow or Order's Wrath, for example.
Fury and Caluurions pidgeonholes you into a niche playstyle, that will limit your experience with the class. And besides, Caluurions has been nerfed quite substantially last patch.

But hey, do what feels right.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.
