What was the most Memorable Interaction you had with a Player in ESO?

For me It's when I was new and someone was saying they will level the enchanting skills line to max in zone chat...

I thought it was a scam but I bit...

Turns out they kept giving me glyphs they had until I reached max level while I kept deconning them.

That interaction blew my mind !

Oh...when I did my first world boss I promptly died and spawned at the wayshrine because I had no soul gems. Another player noticed and out of the blue sent me 200 soul gems. That set a framework for interracting with other players. I try always to pass it on and help. Also it made me feel warm and fuzzy.

I wish I remembered the player's name...whoever you were, thank you.

Whenever someone leaves a dungeon and the rest of the group stick to finishing it despite all the bugs with matchmaking or gaps in knowledge of some players. It is rare to find players who don't give up and move on to the next dungeon, and I typically enjoy playing with these players more.

    dd17feojyzn9.png
^ this one was funny, all I did was spot/kill him and some level 17 on the multi-rider mount while they were in Cyrodiil, I assume skyshard hunting. I remember saying to myself "I feel bad for that level 17" until I got that message. I wound up telling him I'm reporting him to MoJang and Microsoft and to kiss his hypixel account goodbye. Whenever I get some salt from an enemy faction player now I just reply GG

    edit-

There are some scroll troll ball groups who liberate our own scroll from enemy keeps and try to farm kills out there that I remember, and while I don't hate them I do get frustrated by them, especially when it's the faction who breached the keep and not their 12 man ball group (if you got the scroll yourselves, good job, do what you want, but if 60 other people helped and you're just trying to troll, not cash money). I guess these are memorable interactions.

There's some negative interactions I remember as well, and I catalogue them in the note section of my ignore list. Typically players who give up on dungeons because we didn't do the stacking speed running strategy they saw on youtube (without informing other players, just expecting it from a PUG matchmade group with them at 2k+ cp and others at ~300-400 cp), or call others trash when they unsuccessfully do PvE content instead of trying to help them out, or in PVP players who try to misdirect our faction in alliance locked cyrodiil and are clearly spies for an opposing faction. These are the people I put on ignore- in PVE I don't want to be matchmade with them again and I hope that's an actual check, and in PVP I'm not going to put up with their constant negativity and nay-saying when I suggest we should push another faction's keep that is clearly vulnerable and has our scroll. I've seen players discourage going after our own scrolls and yet become the first ones to pick it up and have no intention of returning it.

The zone-commanding point chasers in cyrodiil who give out bad calls, I remember and ignore these people as well. They typically wind up on the ignore list of many people, but I wind up on other peoples' ignore lists as well for calling out their bad ideas and detailing why we shouldn't follow their plan while they are being stubborn about it.

I've also seen people ask for lead in a group to invite some friends, then say they are going to share a quest and queue everyone for imperial city when cyro is pop locked. These are the types of negative interactions I remember, the types of people who don't belong in the game due to their conduct and the types of people ZOS won't or can't do anything about so the only recourse is to ignore them and encourage others to ignore them.

Most memorable: fell in love with a guild mate.

Runner up: brand new baby healer doing group dungeons. ESO was the only MMO I had ever played so I was very wary of other players. Got a mail after a dungeon and was super anxious to read it but someone in the group complimented me, gave me tips, and made me a set of Julianos, as well as food and potions to help me improve. They were nothing but kind and encouraging.

I was also “adopted” by another guild mate who got me started in vet dungeons and encouraged my tanking and brought me to new events and then trials. I branched out to serious group content because of her!

I’ve had a ton of positive player experiences in ESO.

Guy got me to join a psn party, read out my ip address and ddos'd me a while back.

On a positive note the first time a random in pvp voice chat (before we had text chat on console) picked me up into a 20 person zerg was pretty cool. Had no clue what I was doing but just riding around fighting aongside that many people was really memorable and got me hooked on Cyrodiil.

I was farming skyshards on my console acc about a year ago, I had a youtube video up on my phone (NO ADDONS LUL) to see how to get to it and apparently my controller mic was on and this dude heard the video
and started talking to me then took me to the skyshard through the little jump puzzle. It was awkward but we laughed about it, he said he had just watched that same video lol. 1 thing I love about console is the area chat, especially when you forget its on. I don't know why they don't add that to PC. I've had some hilarious moments on the mic in some of the main cities. I can't wait for the PS5 edge controller so I can play console again..

I got bored one day, so I hopped onto my camel mount that has this funny puke animation and started puking on random people in Wayrest for the fun of it. Some guy PMed me, asking me if I "do this a lot" and I was all prepared for the "this is offensive, I will report you, you will be banned" routine. Instead, he asked me to do it again.. .somewhere else... in a more private place. I told him it was just a joke, but he was getting real flirty and at some point admitted that he found it arousing.
He ended up on my ignore list.

Going into Cyrodiil at console launch and getting destroyed by max level PC transfers.
I remember thinking to myself "Wow, this doesn't seem like the developers put any thought into whether or not this would completely turn players off of PvP". And from that moment, I've realized over the years that they really do never put a moments thought into how something might effect PvP. Good times.

A few memorable moments, some bad, some good:

Once someone complimented my character's fashion and randomly started to engage in weird eRP and I politely nope'd tf out of that immediate area, lol.

During Whitestrake's Mayhem someone whispered saying they reported me for cheating because I was using Piercing Mark to see them while invisible... Was probably just a baiting troll but I found it amusing.

There have been several occasions during events that some generous player gave me event drops I was missing. I always try to tip those players if possible, or pass something along at least.

Witnessing the rare player-driven Werewolf packs in pvp are a nice change of pace. Haven't seen one in quite a while though.

One of my best experiences (actually 2) is a bit older but left such a positive mark it's been something I try to pay forward whenever I can.

About a year ago I was in N. Elsweyr, got the daily to slay Sword Master Vhysradue.
I'd tried to fight her a year previous to that day with my stamden main, but got slapped so hard I deleted the quest and decided I was never going back.

Anyway, so last year I show up on her doorstep again, determined and with daily quest in hand.
There was another player waiting by her doorway. They seemed HUGE to me, both physically and in CP, they were somewhere in the mid 1000s and I was barely a quarter of that. So they were a little intimidating to me.

We both stand there facing her for a minute and I'm hesitating. Looking at her 3m + health, remembering how flattened I got the last time I faced her (that damn whip attack! lol)...

They finally ask: "So, are you waiting for anyone else?"

Me: "Nah, I just have the daily. She's pretty tough tho."

Them: "I got the daily too, but she's not too bad once you learn her moves, I got you." (They could tell I was hesitating a lot)

Me: "LOL, maybe. Shouldn't we should get a couple more?"

Them: "C'mon Reila, lets get her!"

They charged followed shortly by a bewildered me.
It was one of the most fun WB fights I've had. They were a Templar tank and were constantly drawing agro so I had more time to watch her and learn.
After it was over I thanked them a couple times I was so excited haha. Looking back I wish I'd done a little more bcuz I realize now how MUCH they shaped me as a player.
I wish I remembered their name.

Now Vhysradue is kinda like my "test" WB and a right of passage for all my newer characters.

Earlier this year I was again on my stamden main now at or above the CP that my brief mentor was above.
Doing dailies around my old home zone and grabbed the one for Ms. Vhysradue.

I ride up to her front steps and there waiting by her doorway with their bear is another warden, around CP150 iirc.
We both stand there a moment in silence.

Finally I ask: "Are you waiting for more to join?"

Them: No, I just have the daily but never fought her before."

Me: "She's pretty predictable once you know her tells, I got ya, ready?"

Them: "She's got 3 million HP!"

Me: "C'mon, let's go get her!"

One of my BEST feelings and memories, being able to pay it forward <3

Ooohh...Army of Werewolves is always fun. I was in a guild that did Army of Evil sometimes where we all ran pet sorcs with as many pets as we could and it was also quite a sight watching all those little daedra chase after whoever we light attacked.

My first vet scalecaller peak. Was about level 600cp and I want the monster helm. Had studied the mechs, prepped and everything so I rolled the dice and plugged. Well I was just not prepared, it was my first vet dlc and I froze a lot. The players in my group were pretty obviously really experienced late game players, 3-4x my cp but they were so cool about it. Asked if I was new, rezed me when I died (which was a lot, like a lot a lot). When we got to the last boss one dude hit hm as a joke, the ensuing reactions were hilarious. Starting with: you manic! We have a new guy! He'll be crushed and traumatized 😂 We tried it anyway and failed miserably of course, mostly my fault, and had a good laugh. After we beat the boss they asked me if I was looking for gear I kind of sheepishly told them I was looking for the monster helms. They all gave me their helms for my sticker book, threw flower petals at my toon and congratulated me on my clear. Still gives me the warm fuzzies 😌

I've had so many good interactions I can't think of one so... I'll pick one of the most awesome PvP duels I ever had.

Was in Cyrodiil and I noticed one of Ash's resources was under attack and went to help. Standing there was a lone Templar and I attacked him which caused him to flee for the Tower. A few of my Covenant allies ran in never to be seen again, and when I charged in there I saw the absolute carnage he committed and tried to put him down.

This wasn't a battle of two super tanky people unable to kill each other, but a battle between two well balanced opponents who are almost able to kill their opponent before their opponent counters, heals, and lays down their own burst only to get countered.

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.... we fought and fought and fought. I had gone through around 6 ultimates before I realized there was no way I would be able to beat this dude as I was forced to use my ultimates as a Dragonknight just to keep my resources up to not die to him, and he was somehow rebounding from every close encounter I gave him.

Eventually I jumped off the tower and he followed me. Fight lasted about 30 seconds after that and he beat me. Got a compliment from him about how hard I was hitting, I congratulated him on the win, and we went our separate ways as I respawned to fight the EP instead.

Edit to include this fight happened shortly after Greymoor and before Blackwood. Think the Pale Order Ring existed at this point so probably after Markarth.

On the release of Imperial City, my 2 friends & I were at the EP sewer base after having been ganked over & over by an AD NB just outside the base, discussing what to do next. A player with the character name "Hokus Pokus" messaged my friend & asked if we wanted a guided tour of the sewers. We explained how there was an NB out there that had already killed us a few times. He said no problems, I'll deal with that & then take you to the centre & back. He did add the caveat that if we ran into a larger group, then chances are we would all die & lose our telvar (80% loss back in the day!) We agreed.

He made short work of the NB at the base entrance, one single curse/wrath/streak/frag combo blew the NB up before he could cloak once. Hokus tells us that if we are travelling the sewers with him, then we must not harm any crocodiles. We were all like "OK".... no idea what that's about. We worked our way through the sewers slaughtering the mobs & amassing telvar with Hokus killing the mini-bosses for us! :D We got to the centre & started on the portals... Hokus yells in chat to stealth up & get back to the sewer tunnels, big group incoming. One friend & I get into stealth OK & sneak back to the tunnel entrance, but my other friend was engrossed in combat & did not see the message & the DC group smashed him in an instant. The DC start throwing AOEs around... they know it's likely not one EP by himself at the centre.

Hokus tells us in group chat that he is going to lead them away & we should head back to the sewer base as the DC head for the EP side tunnels. He unstealths & streaks through the DC heading for the AD side tunnels. My buddy & I leg it back towards the base.. but we are going slow coz the map is super confusing & we run into dead ends a couple of times. We can hear combat sounds behind us & were looking back the whole time :D Just as we got back to the base... Hokus turns up! He had avoided the DC & followed us back.Once inside the base, Hokus donated the telvar he hard earned to my friend that had died & lost his telvar. Total champion of the EP. Good times.

We never found out what the deal was with the crocs :D

One was asking in zone chat, what sets would be good for for my DK character (I was just starting to think seriously about gear and things, and recently reached CP 160). Some kind soul not only made recommendations, but actually crafted me a full set of purple gear and a bunch of food, too! They didn't ask for a single gold coin in return. That was very nice. After that and similar experiences, I take every claim of a "toxic" community with a bagful of salt. At least on PC EU people are on average quite nice, if they are communicative at all.

Another one, where I was the helpful party for a change: Some player with whom I had chatted a bit in the past in their native language (which I speak tolerably), whispered me out of the blue if I'm from the same country as them and if I know other players who spoke their language. They said it would be much nicer to play with their colinguists, but they hadn't found too many. It so happened that I belong to a guild where most members are native speakers of that language. I asked the guild leader if the guild wanted new members and related the situation. The leader said OK, I made some introductions and the player who had whispered me joined the guild. They thanked me profusely. It really made my day to see someone getting so happy for something like that.

Mine was in my 3rd day playing --- outside Daggerfall, and got invited to join a "naked world boss battle"... no armor or weapons, just loincloths and fists.... and yeah, I was level 4.
I used up both of my Soulstones, quickly... and then someone gave me a stack.....
After, we ended up in Elsweyr and fought a dragon, naked.... and yeah, it was fun

    Auldwulfe

PS, the reason this was so memorable, was that when I logged on, I was seriously considering quitting --- I had come over from other MMO's, and the new systems and new controls..... I felt like I wasn't getting anything right - and I had no idea where I was --- I was trying to find this "hooded figure", and didn't know where things were, and this group, immediately, made me feel like a member of the team.....
