Flurry or Silver Shards on a different class, while crying.

In my experience, if you intend to continue to play plar, I would go magicka and use puncturing sweeps or blazing spear as your spammable. The former is less magicka and heals you but the latter doesn't lose out so much on its cleave damage and you can block cast it easier. This is because you will probably swap to using radiant oppression after an enemy is at 40% health anyway with the power shift in abilities. It is harder to make that transition from a stamina spammable to a magicka spammable since radiant opression now is their main source of damage, and only has magicka morphs.

I take a long break until ZoS can learn from their past. For example mara's balm. They had countless other things in the game they have nerfed because of it being OP. Then they release Mara's balm. Like they forgot 7+ years of ESO existed.

I know exactly how you feel. I feel all wrong myself whenever jabbing. I just hope they will see how much the majority of the community feels about it and returns my stamplar back to me. I know this is unlikely though. I am sad.

I suggest trying blazing spear and radiant oppression as your new spammables then. It has been awkward with resource management to use silver shards into radiant oppression in my experience since bigger enemies in harder content can be between those two phases for long durations.

Learn to play a different class. Sorry, but that's about it with all the nerfs they made to the templar main skills.

I play a lot more casual now. I moved over to the NA server, and now im just questing when i play. I log in now only 2-3 times a week max. Im getting more and more less interested in the game with every day that goes by since this update. And i might play an hour if that.

I switched to Lightning Staff for PVP because Maras and ult dumps. But, lightning staff also procs Maras, as well as many other Templar skills. Might hybrid and duel wield. But In general I use shock clench, then Javelin, then meteor, and jesus beam. If i have room I also carry POTL.

Yep. Does more damage than the actual spammable, and with cost decrease you can manage it. Shows you how much it was tested by devs, which is to say that it wasn’t tested. But even with using jabs, magplar still feels pretty good in 4-man and solo play, mostly due to the buff to radiant oppression. But I feel like that will be short lived.

one aspect of templar i loved was being able to contribute to the group with only a few skills on each bar (easier on my fingers, joints, and attention). with u35, i've added in a bunch of DOTs to both bars that I wouldn't have bothered with before. It seems to do reasonable OK in trials, but I really hate having to watch so many different skills and constantly flip around to keep DOTs up. I'm looking at playing a two pet sorc instead, seeking a simpler rotation, or just spending less time in ESO.

The beamplars have already started popping up all over pvp, although there haven't been any complaint threads yet.
So who knows it might stay.

Jesus people. I get being unhappy about the animation change and the damage nerf but the skill was way too strong prior. A AOE spammable that costed next to nothing, healed you and had a long reach. Also to the people who are saying the class is unplayable... just stop it. You're clearly exaggerating, the class still kicks butt and is still good.

I still use it and actually enjoying the new jabs. I'm playing a High Elf Stamplar and he is shredding and melting people and mobs.

Meh build for 40k hp and any class can solo any normal content overland or dungeon as long as there isn’t a lock down mechanic. That’s hasn’t changed full stop, you can do it with heavies with healing skills. For all classes. Things are just slower now, for what reason that alludes me.

PvP is a mess. You shouldn’t have jabs or sweeps on your bar. I’ve mained Templar for a very long time. Essentially I look for fellow temps who still use jabs in PvP- I’m wearing maras and another healing set ;) so please attack me with weak dots and snares. Those players now provide free overtuned healing. Like I’ve said elsewhere I wolf out and people can parse on me, if by chance I get worried burst 25k heal in WW form.

The melee-plar of the past is no longer part of this game.

This is in no way is enjoyable or fun. It’s a thoughtless gameplay and I only log in a few times a week to troll if that now.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it, but there are over 20 million accounts in ESO, and the players who own them will have vastly different experiences with the same game. Our experiences and opinions are all valid, even if they aren’t yours.

Personally, I would argue that a nerf of 40%+ all at once is not an appropriate measure to take in any balancing context except wanting to neuter something completely. Yet we got that with three class skills this patch: jabs/sweeps (lost 1 of 4 hits and the other three took a nerf of 21%), burning light (33% less damage and procs half as often), and ritual of retribution. Ritual loses about 45% of its damage compared to last patch if you have to recast it at its original duration of 12 seconds. Most bosses don’t sit still in ground DoTs for anywhere near the new 20 second duration - which the devs said they understood in week 3, but they also entirely neglected to update this skill accordingly while they changed other ground DoTs. They buffed the (mag-only) execute to compensate, which made the class massively back-end heavy and even more subject to extreme RNG (e.g. 10k+ variances in otherwise similar parses due to crits on the execute) while reinforcing the erasure of some of the last of stamina templar class identity and the use of infused jewelry in PvE (now bloodthirsty is BiS on all classes.) In PvE the best stamplar setup is literally magplar but with a worse spammable.

Is that literally unplayable? No. I do still see damage numbers when a skill registers, and things eventually die. But it is so badly off in terms of identity and execution that every day of this makes me not want to play. That despite the fact that I’ve played and loved stamplar daily for over five years, I do vet DLC HM content with some PvP (enough to be at rank 50), and I play every day with my partner, which is honestly what’s keeping me in game right now. My class now feels like a chore and a slog compared to before, and when the experience of the class makes me not want to play it after all that, I would suggest the devs reconsider the kind of experience they want their players to have rather than explicitly subordinating our experiential anecdotes to numbers that fit into a spreadsheet. Just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should. This should be fun. And the fact is that it is no longer fun for many, which needs to be acknowledged and addressed even if others like yourself continue to enjoy it. We shouldn’t have to have a literal 0% rate of enjoyment for critical adjustments to be deemed necessary.

I don't like my templar jab. It doesn't look like I'm hitting anything. Also, now my magplar sucks. She used to be so good, never die. I just looked at her today and her health is 399. I don't know remember what it was before, but it wasn't that low. I guess Hexos and Prayer aren't good enough now. Ugh. I get tired of changing my builds when I just used my transmutes to create a bunch of gear.

What do I do, as a templar main, after U35? I don't main templar anymore. Simple. Not because of the damage, but because the new jabs animation sucks. Been maining it since beta, sucks but I'm not gonna play it since they removed my favorite skill.
