I stink at pvp....I really do. My bow nightblade is squishy, but when I'm engaged in guerrilla tactics while my alliance keep is under siege...I mean..come on now. I'm not ganking solo sods getting shards or picking locks. So...really? Do you NOT expect to die some times?

God forbid someone gets hard countered or you save the life of another player with heals. Too many fragile egos out here.

ESO PvP is not balanced as an esport. Definitely a lot of fun, but not something that should be taken seriously in terms of achieving victory over another.

I've given up playing online in PvP land, cause it taints my view of a skilled players when they start sending salt whispers.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

It's only okay if I die in one of the 3 ways that I find acceptable

My great grandpa wrote the Geneva convention, and if he were alive today he'd say the following has no place in an online video game

    -charge> jabs> sweep
    -Fossilize> leap> whip
    -Crouch heavy>soul harvest>surprise attack
-beetles>dizzying swing>bird (or what ever wardens do to blow people up)
-any sorc combo that involves lining up GCDs for simultaneous ability hits
-that insane necro bomb that involves the boneyard, the blast bones, and the colussus slam
-hitting any one with ele/crushing weapon+another skill at the same time
-applying any theory crafting that would enable a single ability to hit another player for over 10k

There are only three okay ways to kill another player in Smellder Scrolls Online:

-Throwing them off a ledge with the inferno staff (if we're being serious, that's always a good one)
-Knocking them off their horse and light attacking them to death. This method gets extra props for now being in a perfect spot balance wise
-A meticulous and calculated combination of dots built up uninterrupted over the course of 10 seconds. This one's the smartest way to get some one good

I had a hate whisperer trying to berate me for killing them. They challenged me to a fight. I normally do not reply to such pointless rants, but in this case, I pointed out I had already killed them and found them underwhelming. I moved on after that since they also lost the chat-based PvP match.

Whelp...I can tell you that stamblades are the most infuriating thing to play against to me.

I'm a glass canon magplar, if the nightblade is good enough. I'm dead before they pop out of stealth. If they slightly less skilled and I manage to survive the initial burst, I'll turn and try to burn but....cloak. if they even less skilled and don't cloak/dodge properly they are dead.

I'll be the first to admit that yeah I die to high burst builds very often, but that's the choice I've made with my build.

I've completely forgone building for defense and only use honor the dead and mist form for defense, it's sufficient e ought for my goals, but NBs suck...I hate them.

I don't hate tell them though...it's my fault I died to them. Like corrosive DKs. Only time I die to them is if I'm not paying attention to their ultimate and they go green without me mistform jumping ship.

I get the fury on stamblades though...but I generally kill 10-20 times before I die....generally, so it doesn't bother me too much

There are definitely people that if they die in the PvP zone, in the PvP mode of the game, their ego cannot handle it and it seems to hurt their very soul. I don't typically get a lot of whispers, but I do tend to see someone get killed, and then come back with like 6-8 people very soon after dying and try to kill/teabag since they're salty that they lost in a fair fight.

I will never understand this mentality. You gonna die. There is always someone more skilled or they have a better build, hell they may just have less latency. Lots of times I barely get a LA off and they are a mile away already. It's the game. It's any game. It's for fun. I get clobbered. Often. because I'm still trying to muddle through. Thing I will say is that it is much easier to find folks to help you figure out/understand pve then pvp. The truth is that it can get pretty brutal out there. At then end of the day if your ego is getting in the way of your enjoyment you are doing it wrong. Regardless of your skill level.

Some players actually do feel entitled to not die, especially when they get killed by a perceived 'zergling' or some other player they look down upon for whatever reason.

Just look at a hatewhisper as a way for that player to justify their own death to themselves, and it just becomes funny seeing them look desperately for excuses.

In my experience the saltiest ones seem to be cloak-spamming NBs. My theory is that the PvP players who hate dying the most like to roll NBs because they believe this will give them the best chance to break off a fight when get in over their head, so when you counter their cloak spam and kill them it hurts their ego more than the average player.

I got some very profane and violent whispers from a DK who was calling me a [snip] and a [snip] for using streak effectively on my magsorc. I told him it wasnt my main and I’m not even good on magsorc. This didn’t mollify him for some reason.

I think he wanted me to stand still and go toe to toe with his DK so he could just spam-whip me to death.

    [snip]

Welcome to StamBlades Anonymous, there's Pizza and Fruit Punch by the door.

Nightblade isn't even the most annoying class to fight against anymore, but people still despise the playstyle the most out of principle. The Cloak Gankers and Archers really burned a hole thru the playerbase's hearts that won't ever heal.

This is one reason I'm glad to play console.

99% of people don't have keyboard connected to their Xbox, so hate whispers are too much effort for most people.

As a StamBlade main myself I take pride in hunting other Nightblades. Back when piercing mark's reveal had a long duration I used to be my group's anti Nightblade protection lol.

That said.. I won't deny I get salty when my Cloak doesn't work, and DKs just lock me down.
