Just completed this fight and obtained the skill point - so as far as I can understand it, I have completed a public dungeon group event for today's Endeavor. My Endeavor list didn't update for that category.
Left dungeon and reentered and repeated the event - no change. Forgotten Crypts worked fine.
Edit: Had the wrong name, new dungeon in High Isle is the one I meant.
