Oh I have no problem with the changes actually, I'm a casual solo player and I have never logged my DPS. It took a little longer to solo normal dungeons and arenas, but it isn't end of the world bad for me. Even made my companion really shine in Dragonstar and some dungeons.

Don't worry too much for vMaelstrom, it will take only take MUCH longer with U35.
On PC, someone wrote that he did vMA in 4x mins before, with U35 he needs 7x mins.

I rather worry for vVateshran, because most ppl already can barely do the final boss.
I know for sure I will NEVER will be able to do vVateshran again after U35 goes live.

My friends and I, we already feel like EOF (End Of Fun) is coming with U35.
All vet content where we already struggle, especially HMs, will not be accessible anymore.

I mean, we haven't really enjoyed the game for a while, to begin with. Our endgame scene is pretty sparse. It's just the same groups of people running with each other. A lot have moved to final fantasy.

It's just a game.

I play it because I can co-op with my partner, and I can chill after work. If I stop enjoying it, I will go and play something else.
I tend not to get taken by the sunk cost fallacy.
If it stops being fun - stop playing.
If it starts to feel like something you HAVE to do rather than something you want to do - stop playing.

It's ok, if it's that bad I'll unsub, take a break and play something else. Only downside is when I do that I don't usually come back.

XBOX NA here. My group already got Hurricane Herald and we're consistently going into Taleria 36/36 but time is an issue We probably won't get Swashbuckler but HH is a decent enough achievement. Copium.

probably might want to let them know to not waste any $ on the game AT ALL , will just ultimately leave them with buyers remorse after they see the update go live XD

oh im pretty sure theres ALOT of players not coming back , hell just looking at the steam charts (this is bearing in mind thats only 1 source of players of course , not counting consoles or those not using steam) is enough to notice theyre taking some real dips in player #s. wont have me coming back , at this point im curious to see how badly theyll try to back peddle this decision when they were warned how many times to just flatout not put out the combat changes being as bad as they were / are.

I’ve been preparing some experimental PvE Heavy Attack builds to try out when the patch hits for console, and am looking forward to seeing which of my characters break so I can figure out how to tweak them to work again, or gives me a reason to try playing then a different way / to make new builds.

So far mostly my Magicka characters are suffering a damage loss, the Stamina characters are generally unchanged who use more burst damage abilities. One cool thing, my Bosmer Stamina Warden went from 11k to 16k penetration passively, one minor breach and I'm capped. Cleared normal maelstrom arena slightly faster than before by a couple of minutes.

I still have a lot of characters to go through to make my final judgement.

it can not really shock me.
I was very disappointed when magsorcerers were nerfed to oblivion maybe 2 years ago (removing crystal blast, crit reduction etc.).

As I farm daily worldbosses, and had to do it solo most of the time (deserted xbox EU server), I gave up trying to compensate by other builds. Instead, I moved to NA, with 5-10 times more players. Here, I almost never have to solo a boss, so it is ok even with the nerfs.

I meanwhile run 64 characters of all classes, none "meta", but they do this job that way. If I will lose 30% of damage again, who cares.
Now others will go a similar path for sure. EU will turn from "deserted" to "dead", NA still will allow you to play to a certain degree.
I just pity those who now will have to face like me two years ago: end game is not what this game will allow me to play. Saves me money though, I don't buy any dungeon DLC.

ZOS is very fortunate that Guild Wars 2 and FF14 are not on Xbox.

I haven't enjoyed PvP since ZoS decided that proc aoe pulls were a great idea and purging meant death.

Ain't been able to enjoy the game since week 2 of the PTS. Done with this game and I'm done with these devs that don't care about its players. Glad this game lasted me two years, but I wish it lasted until Dragon's Dogma 2 came out.

I am running normal Maelstrom. I am not a high dps player, just getting into a trials group running normal trials now.

I am hoping the patch does not completely finish me.

I'm trying to enjoy what time I have left to have fun, but it's like trying to enjoy the beach when you can see the tsunami approaching fast. *sigh* My poor, beautiful DK...she doesn't deserve what's coming.

Rimworld made console. Not a mmorpg, but got awesome reviews. It is what I play now, when I don't need to log on for trials or prog group stuff.

I audibly laughed out loud when I saw that change. They don't want us to have a stamina whip so badly that they made it half and half.

To be honest, it's a little disconcerting. I'm not an endgame hardcore player, but I do run a trading guild and am in several others. Notably less people online daily across all guilds, less sales are happening in places where sales have always traditionally been good and steady. This has been a noticeable decline ever since U35 hit the PTS and the general public could read the patch notes and tester opinions.

I'm fairly alarmed how much worse it may get after the update actually hits us.

When a lot of the community is unhappy, it has ripple effects one may not have originally anticipated.

This is just ZOS telling us to not play DK at all. "This class is for tanking, don't you dare play DPS or PvP with it"

Even Gilliam has, the dev who did the bulk of the work on this combat update. His twitter is almost entirely recent clips of himself in FFXIV.

That certainly isn’t some sort of bashing (I like Gilliam) just recognizing the reality that literally the folks who brought us U35 play FFXIV in their leisure time. Just is what it is.

I enjoyed the game before U35 and will enjoy it after U35. The update gives me something to work towards, creating newfound joy and personal achievements to obtain along with figuring out new sets and skills with which to work. The grind continues.

I saw most here talk about FF and I went to try it and I could only handle it for about 30 min. The first time a character opened their mouth and no sound came out I couldn't understand why this a comparison to ESO. What am I missing? Auto-attack? No thanks.

I do have compassion for the very passionate player base that is upset, but as others have said; if it's not fun anymore, don't play.

The hard truth is ESO owes you nothing more than what they have provided. If you sub, your reward is the crown roll over. Besides that all they need to do is keep the servers on.

I play XBX NA. I am a true casual. I've never used a dummy, don't care about stats, PVP, score pushing or all the other terms I see here. In fact I shouldn't even be on the forums at my participation level. I watched a veteran(?) dungeon run and it seemed like a whole different game. Looks fun though I could never imagine doing such a thing.

But one thing I've learned over the last 6 months on this forum is that you must filter the noise down to about 20% to get a realistic feel for what is really happening.

Personally I am not too concerned. If I have to tweak so be it. But again I understand that I am a lowly causal, and that this is less painful for me than those that have been around for some time.

I can only wait and see how my characters play on console. If I parse the forums (pun possibly intended) it probably isn't armageddon.

I understand that ESO is a game, but change is always good to shake things up. It's just going to take a little bit to adjust. And good players do just that.

Anyway, if everyone leaves and you are on XBX NA come find me if you're lonely. I'll still be here in one of the most awesome MMOs I've ever played (I'm 51 so I've played a few in my time). 🙂
