(This is my first post, apologies if I do anything wrong.)
With the release of Update 35 came the release of 20 new structural blueprints from High Isle Daily coffer rewards. In anticipation of this, my friends from multiple guilds and I ran dailies in large groups for about 2 weeks before the update, saving up coffers across our alt characters. In the end, we all had fat stacks of coffers, prepared to get nice rewards when the blueprints released on Monday.
Except that we did not get nice rewards, we got garbage rewards as compared to drop rates of similar structural blueprints from saved coffers in past Q3 releases. I know that anecdotal evidence does little to help, so I'll try to present numbers.
I had 360 coffers. I opened them and got 12 blue blueprints, 6 green blueprints, 0 purple blueprints, 1 motif, 2 Draoith (sp?) Druid totem lead things (I TOOK THE TIME TO SCRY THEM TOO!). These 360 coffers were mainly on 8 characters, with about 20 on 2 other characters that only ran a few times with the group. When opening, I did my crafting writs, did the new dungeon, played cards, was in my house, in various towns, and in general trying not to just sit in one place and spam open them as quickly as possible. I did it in a span of about 6 hours, doing other things just in case the rumors of cool-down on blue recipes from coffers is correct (I didn't experience this however on characters with absurdly high coffer counts who got multiple blues in an opening session). My husband had 509 coffers and while he did not track his numbers quite as well, got ZERO purples as well (besides the daily motif). FIVE. HUNDRED. AND. NINE.
Let's just say that I ran these for 12 days, 4 hours a day, with anywhere between 8 and 12 people on average in my farming group. Each FULL set of 6 + 2 vents takes about an hour (CUZ HERDING CATS). For easy math let's say we have 10 people every time. That means we have 480 coffers a day between us. Let's say it's just 400 because some days are slower than others. Over 12 days, just with my group of friends/guildies, that's 4800 coffers or so. No purples. Not a single friend got a purple. Not a single guild mate in my trading guild got a purple. I panicked, thinking they weren't even dropping. I have heard 3 first-hand accounts from traders/housing people and found TWO. A WHOLE TWO, on traders.
So... I guess my point for this post is to question whether I'm doing something wrong and being punished for being stupid, or if the drop rates are really SUPPOSED to be this rotten.
I love this game and High Isle has thus far been my FAVORITE DLC! I'm in NO risk of rage-quitting or anything so dramatic, but I AM completely disappointed in this return. Putting in the hours and the work should be *rewarded* with loot. But this time, I feel like I threw my time away for nothing.
Anyone else experiencing this or have better numbers so the team can work on drop rates? (or not and I'm just a whiny baby, which is fine, I just need to KNOW).
