UI Error box freezes game

When I use the wayshrine OR go to a home, I get this box up. I can't use ESC or any key to move it. It freezes everything so i use altContDel and end task on ESO.

How can I fix this? I know nothing about coding etc and use Minion but it hasn't updated anything.

That’s an issue with minimap by Fyrakin. It’s being worked on, but disable addon for now.

Yep, that was one of my issues today - before I realized what it was about, I had 240 lua error notices in Notifications! I uninstalled it until fixed.

Lua errors in notifications? Addons that do this, or suppress error messages should get banned
you'll never get them fixed if you suppress or hide them, but you'll get them fixed if you read them, understand how to see which addon is affected, and you'll contact the dev with info how to get that error (details).

And once you did that disable the addon with errors, and wait for an update.

@Baertram - it had already been reported to the addon author who's updating Fyrakin's Mini Map, so I opted not to re-report the same info two others had already posted.

Yep, makes total sense. Keep the addon comments clean, only add to it of you can provide additional info or steps to reproduce, or provide a workaround.

I was speaking in general about the error suppressing/hiding addons.

I don't know enough about lua to provide workarounds; the only coding I really do any more is PHP and CSS.

When I ctrl+alt+del to bring up task manager it brings back my cursor which I can use to close the UI error, then you should be good to go

Did you try pressing A multiple times? I'm on keyboard, pressing E to close the 2-3 error windows I get works for me. Interestingly, porting into Cyrodiil gave me cursor control when the error popped up..

It looks like it's multiple add-ons broken. I only use 2, a combat parse and map pins add-on, but they're pretty much discontinued so updating isn't a solution for me. Unless there's a fix I could do myself, I may be looking for recommendations for replacement add-ons.

I'll check out combat metrics.

The map pins one I'm using is:

I use it to track harvest nodes, treasure chests, thieves troves, skyshards, treasure maps, lore books, surveys, boss locations, collectables like museum pieces, and random encounter locations.

Well I don't know what the latest update fixed, but the error boxes are gone even though the addon was never updated.
