Hi all. We know perfectly well that a new update 35 has been released today. It has brought a lot of changes. Some of them are good and others not so much. Here's what concerns the second *not very*. I noticed that the animation of such a Flurry skill has changed. Before update 35, this animation was simple, but now... It looks funny and not clear. It's like I'm playing drums or dancing in a disco. It's impossible to track when you made a light attack and when you didn't. My request is not mediocre and directly to the developers. Bring back the old animation.sp5jdv0kr7a7.png
Please respond to this request

I agree. A lot of us aren't happy with the change. It's not as bad as the change to strikes (jabs/sweeps) but it is far worse than the old one. Unlike with strikes, I do get what they were going for with flurry, but it's just not good. It's way too slowed down and is way too similar to heavy and light attacks. It was better when it was just stabs and lunges. Yes, it's silly for maces and axes, maybe, but then so is the aggro in the shield tree. Some abilities just won't work as well for some weapon types. Just let us have one animation with stabs and lunges for those of us using swords and daggers. There's no other way to do it in the game.

I like the new animation, it makes more sense when you are not wielding two daggers.

But now there isn't any animation for stabbing or lunging in the dual wield tree. What's the point of a sword or dagger if you can't stab with it at all? Ignoring that, it's just way too slow and way too similar to the normal light and heavy attacks. While fighting an overland mob 1v1 you may be able to tell the difference, but in the middle of a chaotic boss fight in a vet dungeon? Yeah, no, it's going to lead to a lot of mixed up animations and a lot of frustration.

I agree with you. The new animation pales in comparison to it's predecessor. I'd really rather them change it back.

The new flurry animation looks like drunken flailing. I hate it. :expressionless:

It could be awesome if there were options for how skills look! I’d be all for that, and keep the old animations for flurry and jabs, have different options for warden summons (I love the Morrowind creatures, but not the bear), and maybe we could have a vampire ult that was just a bat swarm without the monstrosity thing (other vampires in ESO have this while only those alchemically altered turn into ugly monstrosities!)

Flurry is in a weird place for me because I don't really like the new animation but I also hated the old one too.

They could replace the animation with the flurry that adds use, where they attack a few different ways within a short window instead of repeating the same slash from both sides, that in my opinion would be better.

Edit: I would rather not go back to original Flurry animation as it was ugly too.

This one still pains me, ideal solution would be adding flags to each weapon type and make new ones for maces etc. instead of this drunk cat fight for every type of them. Old animation was looking good and smooth also having distinct sound clues to work with in content.

As I already expressed that I am ok (though originally a positive view now I'm middle neutral) with the new animation in a few threads here, & that I believe they likely did the change due for a few hammer (& axe?) users asked for a change in the past, & now they made this one supposedly friendly suited for both bladed & bash weapon type users. (& look how it turned out lol + (a small nitpick of mines) the flurry icons doesn't match well with it now)

I have no idea how ESO coding works (likely very complex & such if compared to Oblivion's Construction Set (that something I only know a little bit of)), but if they still has the old animation file, I suggest (though I have this feeling none of them likely won't read this) the devs behind the coding try to add a new animation slot & add the old file there to make it as a custom flurry option (this goes for jabs as well), if no bugs happen it can be a win-win for all!

Main is Blue-Thuxis, a Argonian stamSorc, whose also is a werewolf! 2nd main, Cobalt-Thuxis, a Argonian stamArc, an identical twin sister to Blue-Thuxis, even is a werewolf as well! some alts:
Nirn-Scale Rajthux (Argonian, Templar), Ros-Ei Nature-Thuxis (Argonian, Warden), Crimson-Thuxis (Argonian, DK), Bone-Thuxis Tharn (Argonian, Necro) Why Bone-Thuxis has Tharn as a last name:
The siblings were separated at a young age due to a Dres slaver raid, Blue, Cobalt, Ros-Ei & their mother were able to escape, Crimson & Bone weren't that lucky. Crimson was later "rescued" by some Orcs that later ambushed the House Dres Dunmers, unfortunately one Dunmer remained & sadly successfully brought the young Bone-Thuxis to the Dres plantation. Later an Imperial, a Tharn, bought Bone at a auction & later told he was free, the young Argonian sadly had no idea where to go & doesn't know if his family was still alive, so the Tharn adopted him into House Tharn. This family of Argonians finally reunited years later.
, Kenneth Clyde (Nord, Sorc), Selene Gray-Thuxis (Argonian, Nightblade), Urmanda (Orc, Warden)
Some ESO history: I originally started from PS4 NA during June 10, 2015, I did reached CP 810+ on there. I eventually kinda got tired of paying PS+, so during February 4, 2019 I started moving to PC NA. Also CP: 810+. Nowadays I play ESO PC mostly, while PS4 is dust.

I hate the new animation with the power of a thousand suns... I honestly wonder how they decided it was an improvement over the old one... it's not only that it looks super silly (because it does... drunken flailing is putting it kindly :D) it's that you can't really tell when it ends and the LA lands because of said flailing, making it very hard to use in a rotation. The old one sucked too but it was mostly because of the channel, which sucks overall anyway, and not the animation itself, the new one adds a visual burden on top. I really hope they will re-change this one and jabs as well. I'm not too hopeful though because they reworked vamp, it was a fail, and we're still waiting on an update to the rework...

Imagine using Jabs and Flurry together! You can roleplay as a drunken gravedigger who is fighting off bees while he's trying to work.

    LOL, sad, but true.

These changes that were made to the flurry and jabs animations made me think there is an entirely new team working for ZOS starting shortly before U35. These animations are so out of place it's like they hired people who've never once played the game to make the changes.

I hate it. When I first saw it, I thought I was bugged. I won't use the skill anymore bc of it. The original animation was perfect.

The new animation doesn't match the skill and removes the feeling of impact, so it looks and feels like you're just randomly flinging wet noodles or like someone said above - a drunk in a catfight.

It's as bad and awkward as the Warden Arctic Blast which looks like a drunk trying not to fall over.

I agree that this newer animation makes more sense for the character perspective, especially if you dual wield swords like I do, but when you factor in the speed point, the old animation was far faster and at least "felt" like it had more reach.

Yeah, that's always embarrassing to cast. My character looks like they're in a drunken rodeo trying to swing an invisible lariat.

I think the old flurry looks better with daggers or swords. The new flurry looks better to me with axes or maces because you wouldn’t try to stab someone with an axe or a mace.

I will also say that the overall animation quality of the old animation is better. This being the small things like sound effects lining up with the swings, your character movement looking natural while swinging etc.

The new flurry animation looks like one of those windsocks with the giant flailing arms and buggy eyes they use to draw attention to automotive sales....
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives

For an alternative, could be have the option of which animation we can use? Even in the form of a morph? It's kind of grown on me on my pirate boy argonian but he's the kind to use axes and not be as stab happy

Are 2 different digital animations for sword/dagger mace/axe too much to ask really? They're almost there already.
Ask, ask, ask seems childish of course but in the end it's more money in than out. It's a VIDEO game, let's not forget that. Many watch gameplay videos and scrutinize the animations before trying/buying a game. Sorry for my french but that's what made WoW a success.

Don't worry folks, they have started to sell animations in the crown store. I am sure we will see some better replacements in the future.
