Why do we get male running and walking animations with some personalities?

So I've noticed that while using personalities like Deadlands Firewalker or Minstrel, when walking or running we get the male animations and it looks so bizarre with my female characters, I would like to know if this is intended or if we will be getting a fix at some point in the future. If this is intended I'm really disappointed and I would ask for a preview for walking and running on these personalities when they become available in the crown store, we do get walking and running animation preview on the personalities that get a new animation for those but for female characters this is a different animation than the one we usually expect and I want to avoid buying all personalities that come with this male animation, can't you just put default running animation depending on which gender is our character?

I prefer the male running animation. The female animation has the annoying butt-sway that just looks ridiculous and unnatural and is apparently just there to ogle.

Some polymorphs have the same problem using male animations and it causes weapon clipping with 2-handed weapons. I've brought it up on the bugs forum before but it was ignored.

I don't think they care to fix it if it isn't detrimental to gameplay.

I prefer the male running animation. The female animation has the annoying butt-sway that just looks ridiculous and unnatural and is apparently just there to ogle.

It would be nice if there would be some ability to choose which running and walking animation our characters default to, rather than being forced to accept one animation or another based on someone else's preferences or what they assume someone's reasons for liking something are.

I for one prefer the "female" running animation on my female characters, for reasons that have nothing to do with "ogling". It simply suits their personalities better, and feels prettier and more feminine to me, which is how I designed them to be. I like the "lighter" feeling of their run when I am on them v.s the "heavier" feeling of the run on my male characters, providing a contrast between playing a male and female I find enjoyable. Most of my characters are male, so I like having something different on the two females I do have.

It also doesn't look the least bit unnatural to me and is very subtle compared to the hip sway in some games.

To me the male animations on female characters look like they're wearing an adult diaper and have a major wedgie. If they were to make a more neutral running animation for the female characters, I genuinely feel it should be re-animated to fit the character model so that clipping and weird things like the wedgie-run aren't happening. I absolutely hated this animation when female bosmers were stuck with it for a while during a glitch, but I get that some people want a more neutral animation. I'm just saying, it could be better than slapping the male animation on them and calling it a day.

The male animations on male characters are perfectly fine and suit them well. However, I do feel that there should be a wider variety of default animations available on both male and female characters in order to express their personalities better.

In contrast, I really like Isobel's manly walk and really wish I could have it on both male and female characters whose personality would suit it.

    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

I'd assume that it's because the "male" and "female" animation sets are effectively two Personalities, so when you over-write them with "Minstrel" it includes the full package with runs/etc. And they don't make "Minstrel(M)" and "Minstrel(F)" for whatever reasons. The system might have to sell & list them separately, so you'd have two things in your collection. (more items, more data space, etc.)

But just a total guess, of course.

...they forgot. It seems to me this why we need more female developers in the industry

Obvious solution would be for ZOS to implement a "personality" creator in the same spirit as of the outfit station.

Existing personalities could be reduced to an "emote pack", then players could pick and choose from emotes to design a personality that would fit your character.

Expanding on it we could choose walk and run styles as well.

Aion has this. Whenever you get a personality, it comes as a package, and you can choose your walk, run, jump, and idle right there on the character page via a simple set of drop down menus that list the options from each emote set. For the life of me, I don't know why ESO doesn't do this. I love the jump on the Firewalker personality but don't want the grumpyface idle on most of my characters.

Please don't take away my Deadlands fire personality walk.

I prefer the male animation on my female character; I HATE the butt sway that females normally do.

Much better to simply have the option to choose which animation you want, rather than force us all to use the female animation when we don't want to. Deadlands fire personality is my ONLY way of getting what I want for my character; please do not rip that from me.
