3m Dummy damage calculation

I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate, but I believe the calculation for the 3m dummy to the trial dummy, on live at least, is simple; your damage is 56% of what it would be on the trial dummy. This probably fluctuates up or down depending on your penetration or buffs, but that can be calculated as well; if you have a buff that is also applied by the trial dummy, you can calculate that into the 56% by multiplying the percentiles and removing the difference. For example, Minor Slayer; 5% of 56% is 2.8, so that would be removed from the value to get a more accurate representation of your damage.

If anyone has a more accurate calculation, it would be much appreciated. Been trying to figure it out for so people without a trial dummy can calculate their total parse damage compared to the live values in the future, once the trial dummy gets buffed. That way we can figure out the dps from before and after the monday patch.

The problem with the 3 mil dummy is that buffs/debuffs vary a lot by class and build. For example, Magden gets free Major and Minor Breach with Deep Fissure. This is meaningless on a trial dummy or in any content where the tank uses Pierce Armor, but it makes magden appear to be doing about 18-21% better than reality. There are many other examples like this, and accounting for all of them gets very complex if not impossible.

Back when 3 mil was the only dummy we had to test every class, mag and stam, and set different DPS test standards for each. There's no easy formula to compare different builds without the standardization of the trial dummy.
