Why is jewelary crafting so expensive? doing trials is painful.

Every single trial i do, no one gives the perfected jewelary because they want it to gain money, it's constantly the same thing, and i have to beg.

Why is golding jewelary so expensive, or better purpling? making all 3 jewelary pieces purple alone is around 700k on eu pc.

Summerset released years ago, plz fix this system.

No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

Zircon plating rarely drops from JC writs, and the JC surveys alone are well worth it. I have enough to gold plate one set of jewelry (price right now is around 1.2mil to do this per item, so 3.6mil) and purple up a few sets and I'm not even a hardcore player. I would suggest either deconning cheap purple jewelry or relying on writs as part of your daily routine. Additionally, the vet trials I believe can drop purple jewelry, but also have a chance of gold jewelry from the weekly coffers- maybe strive for this instead.

Even if you do no other daily crafting writs, do the jewelry ones on as many characters as possible!

I do 7 characters per day, I am self sufficient in platinum ingots, I average 2-3 chromium platings per week, never worry about zircon platings and have more iridium and terne than I can shake a stick at.

I collect my surveys and do them as and when I want to craft or upgrade an item. 😃

While plating may drop rarely from JC writ rewards, with 10 points in JC, purple and gold grains drop frequently for me from writs.

Everyone saying "just do JC daily writs" needs to remember that you can't do them if you don't have Summerset. It's still locked behind that chapter.

OP, the devs had claimed they want JC to be worthwhile and meaningful, but like...why does it have to be "worthwhile" or "meaningful"? Why does it have to be so much more of a hassle than any other craft?

That said, others are perfectly within their rights to want to keep gold Jewels to sell. If someone says no then you shouldn't pester or beg them for it.

Why is golding jewelary so expensive

Summerset released years ago, plz fix this system.

Zenimax specifically stated that they wanted it upgrading of jewelry to be rarer and essentially more special than upgrading armor and weapons. That is the reasoning they gave for the number of materials required to upgrade jewelry. They cut the number of matters in half less than a year after Summerset's release.

In other words, Zenimax does not see it as broken, so they do not see there is anything to fix it. The best way to gain the upgrade materials is by doing daily jewelry writs and max level for jewelry crafting on every charter you have. It is quick and easy to do the one writ on each character. That is the best fix we will get any time soon.

They need to be maxed out on Jewelry crafting and all points placed into the one slot for jewelry level which I think is Engraver.

Again, not everyone is capable of doing these Writs because not everyone has access to Summerset. The fact that the system is still tied behind a system a few years old makes it hard for numerous people to fully engage with it and get the mats that others can get relatively easily if they do said Writs.

They need to be maxed out in jewelry, but do not necessarily need to be cp rank. I have quite a few that are sub cp levels and have jewelry maxed. It doesn't impact improvement item drop rates from my experience.

We understand your point. But that doesn't mean that Amottica's point isn't valid. ZOS likely wont fix the issue, because they don't see it as an issue. Jewelry crafting was the key draw mechanism for the summerset dlc, just like greymoor has antiquities and high isle has ToT. Anytime anyone looking to buy dlcs asks which one they should prioritize I tell them summerset.

If your looking to maximize your return on investment I suggest waiting for the next chapter preorder. Historically they have an offering that includes all previous chapter releases in it. Which means you save some money on that.

Or farm the raw unrefined mats sell them, then buy the dlc for summerset using in game crown sellers.

Or sub to eso+ for two months and use the crowns you get from that time to buy summerset.

Maybe sometime in the future zos might make summerset base game, but I'll bet the do it like morrowind and it would only apply to new copies. Maybe they separate out the skill from the dlc like they did Warden or necro... but it likely would still be a crown unlock.

And if you don't have a sub and don't have Summerset you can't access JC writs and stuff.

You just need one week of "free eso+ for everyone" to certify your crafters. After that, you can do your JC writs and dailies in every other town.

Buy grains of chromium. Whenever someone gets golden jewelry during a trial (that he doesn't need for his sticker book), offer him a grain of chromium in exchange for the jewelry item.

offer 2-3, or if its a really sought after set a whole plate. a lot of people would jump after a plating. If you are able to run content for perfected gear you should be able to grind out enough gold to get a few plating's equivalent rather quickly.

My trial weapons and sets are gold and my jewelry is purple, I never gold out jewelry. ZOS keeps nerfing sets too often to grind for gold mats, it just isn't worth the headache for such a small gain.

    other ways beside daily writs:
cyrodiil. If your faction wins, and you reached tier 3 during the campaign, you get a box with 6 pieces of purple jewelry.
Deconstructing might give you 4 grains. If you do this on all 18 characters, this will be some platings.

Or farm dolmens. Put CP in the green tree to increase quality of items in treasure chests. Dolmen drop jewelry at every run.

Apart from the ways people described just doing random vet and deconning the loot is also a good way to passively stock up on zircon and purple mats in general. If you enjoy tel var farming you can also turn keys into zircon by opening treasure vaults and deconning the endurance and willpower jewllery that drops from there. In terms of chrome farming I'd honestly just recommend just farming the gold and buying the mats. It's a lot faster that way.
