Skinny Cheeks is an ESO Content Creator on You Tube. Medium Weaving is an older skill we use to do. Pls google it, it's so complicated to explain. I myself has never tried it. I only use Light weaving. There are many videos out there that show how it works.

Even though this thread exist now, when update 35 goes live people will still be surprised that they changed something unannounced at the last minute and there will be complaining from people who have (re)learned medium weaving for nothing. But hey, wouldn't it be great if instead of needing to be asked on discord by a stream team member they actually came forward on their own and gave us this info before the patch goes live?
Yeah, this attitude towards us players is exactly why trust is at an all time low. I would have preferred to find out about this from the devs in any official capacity and not have Skinnycheeks become their official news channel. Bruh.
At least pay the man a salary if you are making him do the communicating for you, ZOS.

Empower only works on fully-charged heavy attacks now. Which means that medium weaving is dead. You either light attack weave or use fully-charged heavy attacks. Medium weaving turned out to be optimal on the week 5 PTS but now ZOS "announced" in discord DMs with a youtuber that this will change on the live patch and Empower will only apply to fully-charged heavy attacks.

There is a fix to 35 "Where empower won't affect partially-charged heavies (i.e. mediums)". That's what the developer stated on the video. I use light weaving all the time and was dreading that I have to learn mediums.

Okay I hate to sound grumpy because I'm sure this isn't your decision, and that you probably get told what you can tell us. I'm operating under the assumption that you can't just decide to tell us stuff, so this frustration is aimed at whoever tells you what you can tell us.

That said, WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING? WHY do important updates get shared in places OTHER than the official forums? WHY are forum users the LAST people to find out about [self-snip] like this? WHY, when we have expressed our frustration with this NUMEROUS TIMES? WHY, when we've been told that ZOS would "do better" about putting important info HERE instead of just on other 3rd party social media sites like Twitter?

Every time we get told "we're working on improving communication" but then things like this happen and it COMPLETELY undoes any trust built by actual communication that gets done.

And then we have Rich acting indignant about "knee-jerk reactions" but then it turns out to those reactions were completely justified. Is he going to apologize for his remark? Of course not, he clearly doesn't think very highly of the player base.

I know you can only do so much but the higher-ups at ZOS REALLY need to be made to realize just how bad these sorts of things make matters in GOOD times, let alone now, with all the backlash u35 is causing.

Amen. I mean, geez, pay someone 40k a year just to keep track of changes and what needs to be communicated to the community. Would be worth 5 times that amount to them in PR.

Shakes head sadly, looks at what FF14 does, even Blizzard are (eventually, kinda) starting to get it.

ZoS, communication is key. HOW is this constantly eluding you?

    Expecting annoyed tweets now.

Well our community manager gets awards for 'marketing'...so no surprises there.

*shakes head on the ridiculousness of it all as we fumble in the heap of ESO communication trying to find a hint of 'sincereness'*

As their official forums, communication has honestly been a joke. Even if they decide to share a bit of information on another social media platform, they have a responsibility to share it here. They even have a Dev Tracker a the top. Why don't they connect everything said to there?

The official ESO forums should be the first place that anything important related to ESO would be announced.

It was my hope someone on the team would do just that. Maybe soon I hope, since this happened over the weekend. The update is a while yet. I think it's on my Birthday, the 22nd of this month. It would be a nice present lol.

All this anger for a test server update. It was content creators and forum people who put “medium weaving” in the public forum in the first place to my knowledge, but when ZOS continues to iterate update the test server update, they are somehow responsible again?

Most people wouldn’t view the PTS change to empower before it goes live as rising to the level of requiring an individual developer communication. Blame the community for turning it into a big deal.

Here's the question you're not asking: Would it have changed if the content creators and PTS forum folks hadn't made a thing out of it, or would it have gone live, everyone would've started medium weaving, and then it would've gone away two weeks after go-live since the combat team never intended medium weaving to become a thing again?

Which scenario would've made people more angry?

The point of a PTS is supposed to be getting feedback and making sure things like that don't get deployed to live.
