Crown Lethal Poison?

Does anyone use this? Am I missing something? It seems that as it suppresses the enchantment on a weapon and only has a 20% chance to tag the target it really isn't worth it.
Sweetie, can you show us on the doll where the bad man from Blizzard touched you?

Using it with a charged staff means it'll proc like 80-90%

I use it for those endeavors to kill a certain number of enemies with weapon poisons.

So, humm, I know it's possible to use poisons on staves, but how exactly can that make any sense? Your staff will shoot lightning laced with poison? Poisoned fireballs? Frozen cyanide?

No it doesn't. You are thinking of the poisoned status effect. This is about weapon poisons and the chance to apply weapon poisons on hit, which is entirely different from status effects.

Crown Lethal Poisons, and Poisons in general, are very good on stamina damage dealers. They can crit, they scale with your stats, apply the poisoned status effect and their damage is generally solid. They suppress the enchantment because they deal a similar amount of damage as enchantments so it would be very overpowered if you still had enchantments on top of that. What is generally done is that your back bar weapon has an enchantment that increases your weapon and spell damage while your front bar weapon has Crown Lethal Poisons (or their craftable equivalent) on them. The stat boost from your back bar enchantment carries over to your front bar and buffs your skills and alchemical poison damage.
You can also use a damage enchantment instead if you prefer that, the difference is not that big.

All poisons suppress weapon enchantments, not just Crown Lethal Poison. I keep a stack in my main's inventory so I can slap it on my weapon for the "weapon poisons" endeavors, as others have stated, and also when the Speaker of the Dark Brotherhood wants me to kill my target with poison.

I keep a storage chest for all the crown store stuff you get from daily log in rewards for later down the track when I might need them on future characters.

The crown poisons I keep in my mains inventory for the "apply weapon poison to X number of enemies" endeavors that is about it I will normally just use my enchantments always feels wasteful to use poisons in general, I don't even touch my potions unless its an emergency.

Escapist Poison IX for me! Maybe the crown lethal poison is fine in PVE but in PVP you need something more useful!

Oh no, actually not, that character only runs double dot poisons when not in Assassin's guile :) With AG he uses most loaded 3+3- poisons.

Many builds utilize what we call double dot poisons. Lethal poisons are essentially the same thing, but come from a non-crafted source. The damage compared to a crafted double dot poison is exactly the same, so if any of your builds utilize them, they are definitely worth keeping.

I didn't know that charged increased the chances of poison proccing. I thought it infused made it proc more often. Thanks for the info!

Weapon enchantments must be recharged every so often, and while Soul Gems are very easy to obtain for free in one way or another, a charge only lasts for so long.

In contrast, weapon poisons can be kept in stacks of 1K, IIRC, so if you put a stack of weapon poison on your weapon it can generally be used for much, much longer before you need to put a new stack of weapon poison on it as compared to how often you need to recharge a weapon enchantment.

That said, I do prefer my favorite weapon enchantment; I'm just giving one possible reason why someone might want to use a weapon poison instead.

I use them on the characters of mine that use poisons sometimes, but I usually don’t keep the others - there better as crown gems. I do value the tripots more.
