Hello everyone.
I recently had a conversation with my friends about the combat system and ability animation in TESO. They expressed a negative impression about the game, due to the monotony and a bunch of similar abilities in use, as an example: Staff Recovery - the ability to REGENERATE, the ability from the guild of fighters - EXPERT HUNTER and the ability of the NightBlade - SIPHONING STRIKS.
Many of their friends left the game without pumping, because the mechanics of the battle disgusted them, or rather, the use of different abilities for their intended purpose, but with one visual animation, caused a negative. The first aspect of the game that alienated the new player. At the same time, we see how developers are not lazy to draw new abilities for hostile/non-hostile non-player characters and add visual effects to new sets. I cannot understand why it is impossible to create new animations for each ability, completely new animations for each class, so that there are differences not only in the branches of abilities? What do you think about this, it is also interesting to read your comments.

    Sorry, I can't be bothered with animation-watching. I don't care what it looks like, only if stuff dies (which for me it doesn't die very fast unfortunately). I'm not interested in combat and killing stuff in general, and I'm also not interested in animations as a whole.

    As much as people say "animations don't matter", its one of the first things that turn off people from a game. A game that looks like *** feels like ***.

    I have voted yes, but if I understand your point correctly, I would contend that in large part they are differentiated enough. At least the different morphs are enough to tell them apart - be it by their colors or another aspect of their animations.

    I don’t mind the combat animations being the same with different effects that much. They still make for good screenshots and it’s kind of fun finding the same animation in different uses. For combat. With momentos this is a bigger problem for me. Regardless, if possible, it would be nice to see less repeated animations in the future though I feel the time and money could be better spent elsewhere in the near future.

    I have not noticed the reuse of animations as all skills seem to have their animation. If the question or issue is that skill available to all classes uses the same animation regardless of the character's class, that is how it should be. We should be able to see the animation and know what skill is being used against us.

    As far as class flavor in a game where we have so many skills that are not locked to a class, well, that is not going to be as definitive as in games that force players to use specific gear, skills, and weapons and offer very little choice in how we play that character. So it is a trade-off.

    I prefer the choice and lack of restrictions ESO provides over the restrictive builds and slower combat typical of an MMORPG.

    Probably one of the biggest influences of combat animation quality is the fact that they need to fit these animations in the 1s window that is the global cooldown. This means very little variety in what can be done for animations.

    And yes, compared to other MMOS like FF14, ESO animations are very drab.
