Do you read the lorebooks?

Some of the lorebooks contain some absolutely fascinating pieces of information on Tamriel I've not seen anywhere else, or in other ES entries.
It made me wonder.. Do people stop to read these or go back into shalidor's library to read them?

    I don't read the lorebooks
Don't see a reason why i would waste time with that. takes me like 40 hours to complete a zone , imagine if i wasted time reading books.

max i read is things that are related to quests, and it's a quick read.

    I don't read the lorebooks
The MMO design makes them awkward to read as I frequently run into them when I'm in the middle of something and it's not really a good time to stop.

I occasionally will read through a bunch on UESP but, in-game I basically never do so.

I do but the issue is seeming to me that most of the lore has been somewhat discussed in other games all this is doing is filling in the gaps of later games like Morrowind Obvion and such of lost information.

I would LOVE an audiobook of the lore books read by the various voice actors in the game. Would snap up in a trice.

I read each one at least once. I don't typically re-read them unless I don't remember it or it's one I really like and feel like reading again right then.

I agree. I miss being able to take the books with me and read them when it was convenient. In previous TES games I always collected all the books from enemy forts, caves etc. to read when I knew I was safe, and I'd keep my favourite ones at home. I always try to collect the full series of A Dance in Fire and The Wolf Queen (both of which sadly can't appear in ESO).

Some of my favourite ESO specific lore books include I was Summoned by a Mortal and The Moon Cats and their Dance. Oh and Crow and Raven.

I generally just click and go, to add it to my library if it's something I hadn't already seen. But if I'm playing through a zone, or doing a dungeon or delve for the first time, I'll take the time to read it. With some lorebooks, you can almost hear the author's voice in your head, so if I'm going to read it then I'll usually try to imagine what the the author sounds like.

I have a grand library house of all the mages guild books. I read one from time to time in there while waiting around for something else.

Ditto. Some of them are good. Some are boring.

Also depends on how much of a hurry I'm in.

I read the ones that interest me or have quest relevance for the most part. Use to read all the ones I came across at one point but they are usually in unsafe spots, so enemies respawn and attack while your still reading, can't always be bothered hunting them down in the eidetic memory section later on.

I rarely read them out in the world, but I make sure to discover them so they're added to my Eidetic Memory library. I used to go to some nice corner with a great view in one of my houses and just browse the library for interesting stuff. UESP is another nice option for when I want to delve in lore without having to launch ESO. Eidetic Memory is really worth the trouble of doing the Mages Guild quests (and putting up with that pain in the posterior Shalidor) and it basically means I carry around every single document I've come upon. I do admit I kind of lost the habit of reading, which is why I voted I wanted to read more.

I skim them all at least. If they seem like the might be funny, or are relevant to a quest, I will read them. I tend to pass on the dry historical stuff.

I'd like to but unfortuntely the gaem does not pause while I'm reading and while it goes in library it's easier to find any particular book from uesp.net.

After I collected every lorebook in the game I made a library house to display them all. It got me to read quite a few.

But no, it's not something I'll do while I'm adventuring.

i tried to read them, but because they are not interesting, these books are quickly forgotten. Or you have to have some kind of super memory in your head ) Otherwise there is no actual point in reading them at all.

Personaly i remember (a bit) only Chaotic Creatia. This book suggests that our vestige character is Daedra. Lol.

well, you can technicaly make a voiced books on PC.

All you need is Harven's Book Copy addon, don't know if it still works. Then you need to find best of the best (at your taste) online text-to-speech website. From know on you can continue to play the game and listen audio book as background.

    I don't read the lorebooks
I have an addon that opens and closes lorebooks as soon as I pick them up with just a sound to let me know they've been added to my lore library, no interest in reading them. I didn't start playing the game for lore, just wanted to kill sh*t. Five years down the line and Cadwell's gold on five characters, that hasn't changed.

I read everything (that I haven't read before). I find some of the lore really interesting, like the creation of nirn, and how the first mer arrived, and anything about Barbus - I am facinated with Barbus. Also M'aiq. I cannot figure him out.

I'm a reader in RL, so I guess it's just a natural thing for me to do. I agree it's difficult to stop and read in a delve, but I do it anyway. The bad guys will just have to wait to die until I'm ready.
